Chapter 4: The Breaking of the Bow in the Sacrifical Arena
While Krishna and walked through the city, they came upon a hunch backed woman, Kubja, who was carrying freshly ground sandalwood paste to the palace, for the king.
Krishna asked Kubja teasingly, "O beautiful one! Please tell me who you are taking this sandalwood paste to? It would be very kind of you to give me some of it."
Kubja then started smearing the sweet smelling sandalwood paste on the two brother's bodies very happily. They were pleased. Although she was ugly and bent over, her devotion and love was enough to please Krishna.
He decided to reward her for this, and stepping on her toes and pinching her cheeks with both his hands, jerked her straight.
