Chapter 72: Secret Hideout
As Clara and Lyra were getting ready to go to the resistance meeting, Lyra gazed into the twin moons of Geneva. Clara turned to Lyra and said, "Lyra, we don't have to go. To be honest, the only reason I'm going is that I don't want them to turn you into some crazy person like Elias."
Lyra thanked her and explained that she was just curious about Sanguine Society and that it meant something important to her. Clara agreed but added, "Well, I'm not wearing that ugly camo, that's for sure." Lyra and Clara laughed and headed out on campus.
While walking through their campus, they talked about how many members the resistance group might have. "Do you think they actually kill vampires?" Lyra asked. Clara chimed in, "More importantly, do they have any cute boys?" They both chuckled at the thought.
They arrived at an old, run-down essence facility that was now being used for storage. Clara joked, "Okay, well, this is a cool hideout."
As they entered, they were surprised to see a lively room filled with students wearing Ashborne Academy uniforms, some with small patches or hints of resistance, while others were decked out in full camo gear. Both Lyra and Clara were taken aback by the sight.
A group of students welcomed them, saying, "We've been expecting you for so long. Elias can't stop talking about you." A girl stepped forward and introduced herself, "My name is Cherry. Don't let these fools overwhelm you. Come with me, and let's get you up to speed."
Lyra asked about Elias's whereabouts, and Cherry replied, "Well, he's with the big wigs discussing their big secret mission. But you don't have to worry about that."
