Chapter 106: Ruined party
Sofia Shadowheart's fury erupted as she realized her carefully planned birthday celebration had been ruined. "You dare to destroy my special night, Lyra? I will make you regret ever crossing me!" Her essence crackled around her, casting an eerie glow throughout the room.
Luciano, sensing the danger, attempted to placate the enraged princess. "Please, your highness, let's not let this minor setback ruin your evening. We can easily procure another batch of the tonic."
But Sofia was beyond reason, her shadows swirling and gathering strength as her anger grew. With hair as black as night and deep purple accents, he radiated an aura of authority. It was none other than Dante, Sofia's brother.
In a swift motion, Dante grasped Sofia's wrist, halting her attack. "Hold on, Sofia. Before you unleash your fury upon these humans, do you recognize the woman standing there?" He pointed directly at Lyra, his gaze intense and knowing.
Sofia barely spared Lyra a glance, her rage consuming her. "I don't care who she is, brother! They ruined my birthday celebration, and they will pay for their insolence!"
Dante's voice grew stern as he addressed his sister. "This is merely a passing phase, and the tonic is but a trivial matter. There are more important things at stake here."
Yanking her wrist from Dante's grasp, Sofia's eyes flashed with defiance. "Are you suggesting they don't deserve to face the consequences of their actions? They should all suffer for their disrespect!"
Luciano, ever the loyal servant, chimed in, "If I may, Lord Dante, Lady Sofia has every right to be upset. These humans have caused quite a disturbance."
