Chaos ensues, and Lyra seizes the opportunity to use escape.

As the party continued, the elegant atmosphere of the ballroom was suddenly shattered by a blood-curdling scream. Lyra and Dante stopped dancing, their heads snapping towards the source of the noise. A ghoul, writhing in agony, had emerged from the shadows, his body convulsing uncontrollably.

The music halted, and a hush fell over the crowd as everyone turned to watch the horrifying scene unfold. The ghoul's screams echoed through the room, growing louder and more desperate. His skin, once pallid and lifeless, began to change, gaining a healthy, human hue.

"It's the potion," Lyra whispered, her eyes wide with realization. "It's purifying him."

Dante's face paled. "But that means…"

The ghoul's transformation was complete, and he collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath. The Sanguine essence had been completely stripped from his body, leaving him powerless and fully human. The once-vicious creature now lay vulnerable and weak, the very essence that gave him strength now gone.

Panic erupted among the guests. The implications were clear: the Parity Potion had the power to nullify Sanguine abilities, rendering even the most powerful vampires mortal.

"This is a threat to our very existence!" Vladimir from the Bloodmoon Syndicate shouted, his voice ringing with fear and anger. "We must stop this madness!"

The Crimson Dawn Cartel and the Nocturne Council members also voiced their outrage, their faces twisted with rage and fear. The elegant ballroom descended into chaos as accusations flew and alliances fractured.

In the midst of the uproar, Dante tried to calm the crowd. "Please, everyone, listen! This was an unforeseen side effect. We can fix this—"

But his words were drowned out by the cacophony of voices. The Nightfall Mafia, sensing the impending danger, began to rally, ready to defend their territory and their honor.

Lyra saw her chance. With everyone's attention diverted, she slipped away from the center of the room and moved towards the exit. She had to act quickly before anyone noticed her absence. Her heart pounded as she navigated through the chaos, avoiding the heated arguments and skirmishes breaking out around her.

As she reached the edge of the ballroom, she heard Sophia's voice cutting through the noise. "Dante, this is your fault! You brought her here. You put us all in danger!"

Dante's response was lost in the din, but Lyra didn't have time to listen. She pushed open a side door and slipped into a dimly lit corridor. The screams and shouts from the ballroom faded as she hurried down the hallway, her mind racing.

She needed to find a way out of the mansion. The escape potion was safely tucked in her pocket, ready to be used. Her thoughts flashed to Elias and Clara. She had to reach them and get away from this place.

As she ran through the winding corridors, she felt a surge of determination. The chaos in the ballroom had given her the perfect cover. She just had to reach the exit and make it to safety.

Suddenly, she heard footsteps behind her. Lyra glanced back to see Aurora, her silver dress shimmering in the dim light, her eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and suspicion.

"Lyra, where are you going?" Aurora called out, her voice echoing through the hallway.

Lyra's heart raced. She couldn't afford to be caught now. Summoning all her courage, she turned to face Aurora. "I'm leaving, Aurora. I can't stay here. Not after what just happened."

Aurora's eyes narrowed. "You think you can just walk away? You're part of this now."

Lyra took a deep breath and pulled the vial of escape potion from her pocket. "I don't have a choice. I have to go."

Before Aurora could react, Lyra uncorked the vial and drank the potion in one swift motion. A strange sensation washed over her as the potion took effect, and she felt a surge of energy.

The world around her blurred slightly, but she was still in the corridor. The potion hadn't transported her away, but it gave her the strength and speed she needed to escape. She turned and sprinted down the hall, her senses heightened and her movements swift.

Aurora shouted after her, but Lyra didn't look back. She raced through the mansion, dodging guards and slipping through shadows. The chaos in the ballroom continued to provide cover as she made her way towards the exit.
