Chapter 12: Busy At Work (Chapter 12)
As Zen looks at Ken falling asleep, he rests too beside Ken and starts to fall asleep. (This is at night.)
The next morning at 9 am Zen wakes up; he feels so refreshed. He turns and looks at Ken, who is not on his side. He quickly gets up and looks around the room, but has no sight of Ken.
Zen runs out of the room, as he walks down the stairs towards the kitchen. He sees Ken there, in the kitchen, looking for food.
Zen says “there is no food in the house and calls his chauffeur to drive them to eat.”
Before that, he tells Joe to go to the office and takes all the necessary official documents for signing to bring them back home.
Joe quickly drove off to the office. (There are a few cars in Zen Mansion just for info.)
Zen and Ken went for breakfast at the nearest Café as Ken couldn't stand the hunger.
Ken ordered a fish burger, potato salad, and a cup of hot tea.
Zen ordered a fish burger and coffee.
They sat looking at the rising sun in the morning and Ken suddenly mentions that he wants to see the sunrise on the beach. Zen says that he will bring him to see the scene, next day.
As they eat their breakfast; Zen handphone suddenly rings.
Zen picks up the call; it's Joe he says, “The office secretary mentioned there’s an important meeting that Zen must have to attend today at 2 pm and for this Zen has to come to the office immediately for preparation.” Zen has no choice but to attend today's meeting.
Zen tells “Joe to come to the Café immediately where he was, to take Ken back home and also orders to escort him wherever he goes for the whole day.” The call ends.
Zen quickly calls Nic, telling him that Joe his right-hand man, will escort Ken home and he tells Nic to take care of Ken and take him for shopping and dining; Joe will drive them around and make the all payments for the day as he is busy at work today.
Nic says, “Okay.” The call ends.
Joe took 45 minutes to reach the Cafe and he drove Ken back home.
Zen asks his chauffeur to drive him to his office immediately.
Joe took an hour to drive towards Ken’s home.
Nic sees Joe; he thanks him and asks him to thank Zen.
Joe says, “Okay.”
Nic says to Ken, “I am hungry and I haven't eaten breakfast yet, can we go and eat?” Nic suggests going to "One Square Mall" as there's a lot of food and plans to shop after eating.
Ken says, “Okay.”
Joe drove them for an hour. They reach "One Square Mall" (it's a very huge Mall which has a hair salon, gaming, sports wears, clothes, cinema, library, Café, and restaurants.)
Ken looks happy when he sees the Mall.
Ken asks Nic and Joe what they want to eat. (Joe is with them because his job for today is to escort Ken.)
Nic says, “Japanese food for lunch.”
Joe says, “Japanese is okay.”
Ken also loves Japanese food so all 3 of them search for a Japanese restaurant.
After 30 minutes, they found a Japanese restaurant; they sit in and start to look at the menu.
Nic orders first as he hasn't eaten anything yet, "Set L" please.
Joe takes sushi on the belt.
Ken looks at the sushi belt and he takes some and eats it.
They order Green Tea. They sat for 1 hour and 15 minutes and left.
Ken says that he wants to go for a haircut and he mentions Nic's hair is too long, needs to cut them too.
Joe accompanied them, sitting in the salon for 30 minutes.
Nic says that he needs to look for sportswear as he needs it for next week.
Ken says, “Okay” and he also needed some new sports clothing and they went to look for a sports shop.
It took them 20 minutes to find the sports shop.
Joe is also a sportsman; thus this shop is one of his favourites.
Ken sees Joe staring at a shirt; Ken asks Nic to browse himself, and Ken points to the shirt corner and says to Joe, let's go there to see the shirt.
Joe was surprised, and he nodded. Joe quickly grabs the shirt and Ken says, “It looks nice on you.” Joe asks Ken for permission to try on the shirt.
Ken says, “Go ahead, I am going towards Nic and wait for you.”
Joe says, “Thank you.”
Joe went into the fitting room.
Ken walking towards Nic, he hears someone call his name Ken wait; Ken turns around and sees Tom.
Tom asks, “Ken, how are you? I am very worried about you.”
Ken says, “I am fine now.”
Tom puts his hand on Ken's head and pats it.
Nic sees Tom and he greets him.
Ken asks Tom, “Where are you going later?”
Tom replies, “I thought of going to watch a movie because I am alone today and it's too lonely to go to a movie alone.”
Nic cuts through the conversation and says, “We all can go together, and then you won't be lonely.”
Nic asks Ken, “Where's Joe?”
Ken says that he is in the fitting room.
Tom asks, “Who is Joe?” (In a weird tone manner).
Ken replies, “Its Zen’s right-hand man and he is here to escort me.”
Tom didn't reply instead he says, “I am going to buy all these, are you guys going to buy anything?”
Nic says, “Yes, I have to buy all these for next week's event.”
Ken says, “Let me see, I still haven't found it yet.” Ken went around the shop for another 15 minutes and bought some shirts and pants.
While Ken was looking for his stuff, Joe came out of the fitting room and Ken tells him that he needs to look for his clothes. (Nic, Tom, and Joe; they waited for Ken.)
After all of them have their clothes in their hands, they purchase them.
Nic tells Ken to pay together of their clothes in a single receipt (For billing to Zen).
Joe paid for his clothes (He has incentives; thus he will claim these at the end of the month.)
Tom, because he wasn't in the picture; Zen didn't tell him to claim from him, this time he has to pay for himself.
After they purchase the clothes, Ken tells Joe that we are going for a movie.
Joe nodded.
They proceeded to the cinema and find a movie; Nic went to purchase all 4 tickets.
Ken looks at his younger brother and finds it weird since when he was richer than him? Ken didn't ask because Tom was talking to Nic.
Nic bought the tickets at 2:30 pm and now it's only 1:35 pm. Ken says, “Let's go to the library since there's a bit of time before the movie starts.”
They proceed to the library. Ken went to find 2 books, (not thick) he borrows them. (By the time Ken finds the 2 books it's already 2:10 pm.)
They quickly left the library and went buy Popcorn and Nachos (Nic loves Popcorn and Ken loves Nachos.)
Tom didn't buy anything because both Nic and Ken shared it with Tom. Noted that Joe didn't eat in the cinema because it's his job to protect Ken in dark places (The queue took them 10 minutes to buy Popcorn & Nachos.)
They quickly found cinema number 3 and they sat in.
Joe sits beside Ken on his left.
Tom sits on Ken's right side and Nic sits beside Tom. (Joe didn't find it weird because he knows Tom is Ken's best friend; don't forget that Zen asked Joe to check on Tom's previous chapters.)
This sitting position wasn't arranged by Nic; it's Tom that snatches Nic's seating place by going in the row.
Nic didn't say anything. Instead, he is happy because he gets to sit beside Tom. (Here's a good point to remember girls/guys it continues in the upcoming chapters.)
They sat in for 3 hours in the movie.
When they come out it’s 5:30 pm; Ken says, “Let's go for dinner” and asks what shall we eat? (Note that Ken is asking everyone what to eat?)
Tom says “I can eat anything and he asks Ken about what he wants to eat?”
Ken says “Hmmm...”
Ken asks Nic that what he wants to eat?
Nic says, “Let's go and try the new shop its buffet-style since everyone doesn't know what to eat. We are in a group of 4 people, it might have discounts.”
Nic brought them to the shop since only he knows where it's located, it took 15 minutes from the cinema to the restaurant, and it’s far apart. (Dinner starts at 6 pm.)
The queue for 15 minutes and it's already 6 pm.
Nic tells the cashier for 4 pax and he pays for all of the 4.
Cashier says “the buffet close at 10 pm last order is 9:45 pm.”
Joe tells Nic that he will pay for his meal.
Tom says “he will pay for his meal because this meal is on Dutch.” (They both took out cash to pay to Nic.) Note that the buffet even though it's discounted it costs $35 for 1 pax dinner. (It's a dinner buffet; thus it's price.)
Joe can't let his boss pay for it directly, but he will claim it later at the end of the month (incentives).
Tom can't let Nic pay for him because he doesn't know that Nic is going to bill Zen.
Ken went in to the best view and sitting place.
Tom sat in front of Ken and Joe sat beside Ken.
Nic sits beside Tom.
They quickly go and look at the buffet counters. It looks all yummy.
Ken takes some food; so do Nic, Tom, and Joe.
Joe sees there's is beer counter, although he shouldn't drink as he is working, but Ken sees Joe staring at the Beer counter and Ken takes 4 Beers put on the table and asks all of them to drink. (Note that the alcohol in the beer is only 3.5%)
Both Joe and Tom only drank one cup as Joe and Tom have to drive the cars; thus they can't over-drink.
Ken was happy and drinking the second cup and Nic tells him to stop drinking as he will get drunk. Instead, Nic takes food for his brother and asks him to eat since he isn't eating. [Nic loves his brother]
They ate until 9:45 pm.
Nic held on to Ken in his arms as he was dizzy.
Tom says bye to them and he drives off.
Joe took the car nearer to Ken so that he doesn't need to walk further. Joe says in his heart that he is going to get scolded if Zen knows Ken is drinking. [Zen is busy at work]. Joe sent Ken & Nic back to their home. Joe drove back to Mansion as he completed his job.
Zen smells Joe's alcohol, the moment he steps into his Mansion. Zen asks, “Where you go why you do have an alcohol smell on you?”
Joe isn't going to lie to Zen; it might cause him to get fired. Joe tells the truth and Zen gets up from his throne.
“Huh, what Ken gets drank? Where is he now?”
“My Lord, I have dropped him at home and Nic is with him.”
Zen says to Joe, “You must not drink if Ken drinks and warns him not to do so next time.”
Joe says, “Yes, I understand My Lord.”
Zen still has work to do he asks Joe to leave the room and rest.
