Lucas's POV:
I glanced over at Evan in confusion, who was already getting up like he knew exactly who it was at the door.
I would've normally stood up aswell, however my hips predicament prevented me from doing so.
The door swung open and there stood a young woman. She had long brunette hair that reached her hips, Shiney golden eyes and she wore a casual sweater and skinny jeans. Almost like a normal human woman. But I knew better than that, anyone that Evan knew was bound to be a Vampire.
"Evy!" She squealed with excitement, rushing over to hug Evan with a giant smile on her face.
Evan wasn't even Fazed by the sudden hug, if anything he looked as if he expected it. 'This must of been that old friend he mentioned earlier.'
"Ahh. This must be the boy you mentioned on the phone!" Her attention directed at me with curiosity and awe.
She walked up to me in a much calmer manner then earlier and looked me up and down. She placed a hand on her chin as if deciding what to do with me.
With her close proximity, An uneasy chill ran down my spine. This woman terrifies me. I only just met her but I already know that she's a predator and someone not to be underestimated. I moved a little further back to avoid being face to face with her.
The aura around her was much more intense than anyone's I have ever met before. She didn't have any expression or any body language that was terrifying. Her aura was enough to scare off anyone. If anything it was more terrifying that she acted innocently, almost like a trap.
"Layla, be nice. This is Lucas." Evan introduced me. He could probably guess that I was a little uneasy from my actions.
"Lucas, this is an old friend of mine. Layla, she's also a vampire, much older than me in fact." Evan clarified, giving me more information on the strange woman.
" Ohh. Hello, It's a pleasure to meet you." I greeted raising my hand in order to shake hers. Her Eyes widened in disbelief. She seemed rather shocked that I greeted her, as if it was unnatural.
"Oh wow. Yes, it's a pleasure." She replied whilst shaking my hand.
'Why was she so perplexed that I greeted her. Isn't that a normal thing to do. It's just being polite. I mean I would've preferred not to shake hands but pleasantries are pleasantries.'
She came closer, invading my personal space, making me extremely uncomfortable. Sweat forming on my forehead I got up from the couch. I didn't care if my hips still hurt, I didn't want to be that close to this scary person.
Once again she looked shocked with my actions. This time even a little amazed from what I could tell from the smile curving her lips.
"Wow. He must be completely immune to all vampiristic powers." She commented in a rather serious tone. Completely different from her personality from earlier.
"Uuhhh.. I'm sorry?" I couldn't help but interrupt her comment obviously about me.
She burst out laughing at my sudden apology.
'What was so funny?' Even Evan from behind her smirked. I don't understand vampires.
"What? What is it? What are you laughing at?" I said in an argumentative confused tone. Her eyes instantly turned crimson red and looked directly at me. "Jump off a building." She demanded.
