"Wait..." Wendy took a deep breath and held it for one second before continuing, "Aren't you afraid that Yvonne might get angry?"

"Wendy Stewart, I meant everything that I said just now," replied Michael. He was still looking into her eyes, and his gaze was sincere and earnest.

Wendy felt like she was stuck on a rollercoaster.

Her heartbeat fluctuated dramatically. She thought, is Michael really telling me the truth?

However, her rationality told her that she should not believe Michael's words so easily. Or rather, she did not believe that she was significant enough to Michael for him to want to do that.
