Chapter 72: It Was All Worth It

"The party will end here tonight. I hope that everyone has enjoyed themselves here," Christian reached out and blocked the reporters from going past him. Smiling, he said, "My brother merely left because he has an urgent matter to deal with, so I urge all of you to remain civil. Wendy is still his wife, after all. Please do not forget that she is the eldest daughter-in-law of the Lucas family." His words were meant to be threatening.

The reporters did not dare to offend members of the Lucas family. The only reason why they chased after Wendy was because Michael had abandoned her just like that. They believed that his actions were proof of how he did not value her much anyway. At least, this was how outsiders perceived the situation. Hence, they thought that Wendy was pathetic and ridiculous, and they could bully her. It was a good thing that Christian stepped forward, otherwise the reporters would never have allowed Wendy to get away just like that.
