Chapter 21: Chapter 21 : Dangerous Man (3)

'Why? Why do I have to suffer watching your face every day?!'

'Seeing your face always puts me in a bad mood. Get lost from my sight!'

'Why are you looking at me like that? You also think this is my fault, huh? Well, let me tell you. It's all your fault! YOURS!'

'If only you were not born! Just disappear!'

'Filthy child! Don't touch me or I'll beat you again!'

'Bad girl like you deserves to be punished! Come here!'

Ah.

It's similar to that time.

Am I going to die this time?

Am I really not allowed to live happily?

My body jolted furiously at the thought of those painful memories. I thought I had overcome all that. I thought I could finally live freely and happily. This time, I thought I had a chance to change my life.

If I could just endure it. Endured it just a little bit more. I will graduate with a high school diploma, then I could try applying for university. Maybe there will be one who will accept me. I wanted to study more. I wanted a chance to change my fate. I didn't want to stay in my current place.

After that, I could search for a proper job. Becoming an adult with sufficient power to defend and shelter myself. At that time, I will be surrounded by people whom I care about and care about me as well. And I will never be alone again.

Is that wish… too extravagant for someone like me?

I just wanted… to be happy.

My heart squeezed painfully at the thought of me losing my place in this school. No, I couldn't let this chance go. No other school would accept me. My future was still far from my reach, but I slowly lost my footing instead of taking further steps ahead. I could see myself falling into that deep, dark abyss.

With my emotions raging wildly inside, I didn't realize the situation I was in was getting worse. I was occupied in calming myself down when a body suddenly pressed me down onto the couch.

Only after I felt a touch upon my shoulder, I snapped out of my stupor. I looked in surprise at Mr. Gilbert who was facing me with a scowl on his face.

"That's it. You make me mad now." He said as he looked down at me with a smirk. There was a menacing aura surrounding him, and his eyes blazed with fury.

I desperately tried to wiggle out of his grasp, but it only made him angrier. He growled at me while squeezing both of my wrists so hard. I could barely register the painful sensation due to the sense of fear and repugnance I felt.

I struggled vehemently as I glared at Mr. Gilbert. "Let go of me this instant or I'll scream!"

"Do you dare to? Sure, be my guest. Let's dive into hell together. The second anyone witnesses us in this position, it'll be the end of you forever!"

I gritted my teeth. I didn't want to admit it, but he was right. I was in a disadvantageous position all along. He knew how to play his cards well, and for a moment I was not sure how to get out of this situation.

Seeing my hesitation, Mr. Gilbert chuckled with a low voice. "Now you realize the severity of this situation? You should've listened to me obediently since the beginning. How many times do you have to repeat the same struggle until you realize that you are alone in this world? You have no parents, friends, or anyone who cares about you! You are alone, and will always be."

'No, that's not right. I will change my fate. I swore I will be happy this time.'

Or so I wanted to say, but my mouth strangely felt like it was tangled in a spiderweb, and I couldn't let out a sound.

"I am the only one who will take care of you. Only I paid attention to you and thought about what is best for you. You should be grateful to have a kind teacher like me by your side." Mr. Gilbert whispered beside my ear. "Williams, I know what you are trying to do here. You lay low and let those kids do as they please to you because you can't afford to offend anyone right? You tried to hide behind a mask of obedience, but you didn't realize that your back was wide open."

I didn't answer so as to not agitate him any further. I couldn't aggravate this situation any more than this. I needed to think of something quickly!

Mr. Gilbert caressed my cheek with the back of his hand. I got goosebumps all over my body. "Poor Williams. Even if you are expelled, nobody will care. They will celebrate instead. Only I care about you. That's why, be mine, Williams."

I frowned at his ridiculous statement. He was telling me to be what now? Did he finally go crazy? "Mr. Gilbert. I never knew you were into that kind of hobby." I said, without bothering to hide how much I abhorred him.

"It's a good idea, isn't it? I could provide you with protection. Just enough to the point, you could graduate safely. I am the counselor of this school, and I know best which student behaves badly and who doesn't. If I wanted to say something to back you up, they were bound to listen to me."

Mr. Gilbert was the kind of teacher who liked to flatter the strong and manipulate the weak. I didn't doubt his confidence, since I knew a person like him must have few insiders who would help him in case of emergency. He was as sly as a snake and cunning like a fox.

"If you could, convince me somehow. I might change my mind and help you to get out of your peril." He said while leaning down on me. His disgusting face was so close to mine, and his statement was full of insinuation. I didn't want to guess what he was trying to insinuate here, I just wanted to spit on him just because I hated to see his wicked grin.

'If he thought I was easy to manipulate, then he thought wrong.'

"I refuse," I said flatly.

His grin disappeared as he looked at me sharply. "What?"

"I said I refuse to partake in your scheme and dirty fantasy."

Mr. Gilbert was baffled by my sudden refusal. He must be confident that he had a good grasp of me already. He didn't expect I'd refuse him despite his 'generous' offer.

"Williams. I'm afraid you still do not understand your position right now. You are smart, so you must realize by now that your only option is to get me to help." He leaned down on me and whispered wickedly. "Don't be afraid, I will teach you slowly on how you can… convince me. I will teach you how to step by step... Thoroughly."

I couldn't stand his nonsense anymore, so with every strength I could muster, I headbutted him. A loud bumping sound reverberated in the room, followed by a painful groan.

Using this chance, I used my leg to kick him in the stomach and sent him tumbling down the couch.

With a furious glare, I looked down at him. "Your joke is going too far, Mr. Gilbert. I may look easy to you, but I am not that desperate. You should try another method to relieve your frustration."

After saying that, I leaped out of the couch. I jumped past him, as I ran swiftly to the door. However, a pair of big arms suddenly enveloped me. A hand was wrapped around my waist, preventing me from moving, and the others were blocking my mouth, keeping me from letting out a sound.

"You bitch. Now you've gone too far. I planned to be gentle on you since you might be scared, but you are pushing your luck." He hissed menacingly behind me. His hand started to touch and grope at my waist and thigh, sending a shiver on my back. I couldn't even describe how disgusted I was.

I never had the urge to kill someone this badly.
