Chapter 5: Ambrosia

"Here goes nothing!"

With little to no effort Neil poured his mana into the seed as it started off with a bright glowing effect, few seconds later it started to sprout shoot then leaves then increasing in height at the very top formed a multicolored flower.

"I didn't expect you'd be able to do this on your first try, now the second stage is to completely drain your mana, keep on puring as much mana as you can into the seed"

Neil couldn't help but ask what happens if the plant reached it's limits. "Don't dream too big, there's no way you could make the seed reach it limits." The Elven princess said with a voice of certainty which gave Neil the courage to prove her wrong.

Few minutes multiple flowers could be seen forming, and from the flowers formed fruits, at this stage Remiris was already in shock as she couldn't believe her eyes, the seed had already reached it matured state that it had already bore fruits.....

... But the final stage to the seed was it's true fruit, The ambrosia also known as the fruit of the gods.

"I feel dizzy, it seems you were right.... I can't take it anymore." Neil said as he slowly fainted but at his last moment a golden fruit formed which made Remiris to stagger back a little.

"A...A_Ambrosia?"

[At the tainted land]

The battle between the demons. and armies only grew hotter as the hero of mankind battled against the demon lord of wrath. "You're indeed the greatest foe I've fought." The hero said to the figure who looked back at him with disgust in his eyes. "All the time you've wasted had given me the chance to end this...Dark radiance"

"Alas the hero as fallen....My granddaughter would surely comeback for your head." The hero said as his body lowly engulfed in darkness. "You know you're not the first person to tell me that...Listen up Wretched humans, your lives are on my palm, your so called hero is dead!" With that the cheers of the demons grew unfathomably as their new found strength made them slaughter the humans like rats.

<Two days later

Neil who had been unconscious for 2 days finally woke up, He was greeted by the face of Remiris sitting on a chair close to the bed while she stared at him..... "What happened?" Neil asked himself trying to remember but all he feel was dizziness.

"You've earned yourself a reward." The silent Remiris finally said getting Neil's attention. "What does that mean?" Neil asked but rather than answering she gave him a basket of red fruits, with a golden fruit ontop it all.

"What are these?" Neil asked taking the basket from her hand, he only grew attracted to the golden one as it had this presence around it which made Neil want to have it.

"The red ones are mana fruit, they increase one's mana capacity and power, eating all of them could definitely increase your power tremendously, as for the golden fruit it's called the Ambrosia, it's use is versatile but can only be used for one purpose at a time...

..... it could be used to form elemental orbs, it could be used to increase skill level, and also it could be used to evolve spirit familiars."

"I don't get it, why give something so precious to me?"

"That's because you were the one who produced them!!! now recover some of your mana with three mana fruits and some meet me downstairs, today we start real training."

Neil wasted no time as he quickly sank his teeth into one of the red juicy fruit, but the moment he did, it just melted in his mouth turning into nothing but then he felt a cool refreshing sensation on his body ,which was a sign that he had recovered some mana.

After eating two more he felt completely full of mana, just before he left he stared at the Ambrosia thinking of what he would do.

He certainly did not have a spirit familiar so that was not an option, he was left with the elemental orb or the skill upgrade.

"This is a hard choice..." Neil said as he rubbed his chin with his right arm while his gaze were solely on the fruit.

<Using it on any dragonic or demonic skill would only increase it's level by one. Using it on the ice spear would upgrade it to max. As for the elemental orb, you can create elemental orb for any element you have affinity for. But if you'd asked me, I rather you max out the ice spear or create an elemental orb for fire or lightning.

"I understand, using it on my unique skills would prove suspicious, alright I'll use it for fire affinity." Neil grabbed the fruit as he hurried downstairs to meet Remiris who was standing close to an horse while feeding it apple.

"What took you so long?" Remiris asked boarding the back of the horse, "I was thinking of what I'll use the Ambrosia for but since I have Fire Affinity, I plan on using it for fire elemental orb." Neil said walking up to Remiris.

"Climb on, were going to the forest." Remiris said as Neil bluntly refused said he'd ride his own horse. "And why is that?"

"I won't stoop so low to riding on the Same horse with a girl, not to mention behind her." Neil said asking one if the servants to bring his favourite horse.

"What's the matter with that, ain't I pretty enough for you?" Remiris teased with a smile which git to Neil's head.

In his former life the only expression people had on their faces when they saw him was either a frown or disgust... Seeing a girl like Remiris smiling really got to him ass he stared at her in admiration for her beauty.

"....Master Neil

....master Neil." The servant called snapping Neil out of his deep thought.

"Thank you....Ai it's been a long time since I've seen you, you look bigger." Neil said climbing the back of his horse...Ai.

Remiris took the lead with high speed dishing out of the palace with Neil on his trail. It was a very great feeling for Neil. Even though the previous owner of the body had ridden on Ai before, it was the first time he's experiencing it.

"This is awesome."

They continued their journey for hours until Remiris finally came to a stop on a footpath leading to the forest.

Remiris and Neil had fully came to a halt at the centre path of the forest.....

"Casting if spell us just the scratch of what magic is used for, there are people who use magic to summon spirits as their familiar, they're called summoners, fortunately for you I'm one my self." Remiris said as she stretched her had causing a tiny creature to form from thin air.

"What's that spirit, a mosquito queen.(laughs)

"Who are you calling a mosquito queen, I am the arch wind spirit....Tempest is my name, since you're also royalty I'll spell you the trouble of gravelling. Now prostrate your self."

Everywhere was dead silent for a while as only the sound of birds chipping could be heard for a while until a huge outburst if laughter, even though the voice was tiny.

"Ha!! in your nightmares, Hey Remiris don't you know how to train insects?" Neil said I'm attempt to make everywhere lively but soon became puzzled after seeing the look on the face of Remiris.

The aura around Remiris suddenly became cold and violent. "....if you were another person....I swear I'd have killed you my self, thank your stars I had restrained her, take a look behind you."Remiris said with a cold hollow voice...

....Neil hesitantly turned back but after setting his eyes on what was beyond, he could have sworn if swing this place that there was no forest here, some trees had either been uprooted from the ground due to the great pressure of the wind, or had been sliced to bits by the sharp cutting edge of the wind.

"Wow.....You're powerful!!"
