Chapter 270: Overspending

"I have ten," a patron on the first floor called loudly, holding up his auction token and eager to be the first bidder on the Ironskin elixirs. 

"Twelve!"

"Fifteen."

"Seventeen!"

On the balcony, Wu Ling's group sat impassively sipping their wine as they watched the first auction unfold. Of everyone at the table, only Zhang Buyan seemed to show any interest in this particular auction. 

"Do you want me to bid, Brother Gold Fang?" Fang Lin asked when he saw the other man's interest. 

"Don't bother," Zhang Buyan replied without taking his eyes off the auction. "My sect makes a similar elixir but Goldskin elixirs have never had a side effect of creating stiffness. They're just twice the price of Ironskin elixirs and many people don't wish to pay the extra when they don't provide twice the protection."
