Chapter 254: Master Duzhen’s Exam

Yu Jinqi waited long enough that two if not three sticks of incense would burn before Little Bai returned to bring him to the lab where he would take his exam. It was clear from the design of the lab that concocting in front of an audience was normal at this branch of the Alchemy Consortium. 

While the lab had all of the implements that Yu Jinqi would require for the exam along with a wall covered by small drawers full of ingredients, it also had a wall holding two rows of benches for spectators to watch any concocting taking place in this room. In fact, for this room to hold only Yu Jinqi and his companions, it made the room feel empty and underutilized, like it was a waste for a single alchemist to be concocting in a room that could clearly host ten alchemists at a time.
