The next day, Wu Ling spent time with each of his companions, preparing them to attend the auction being held that evening. 

"You're sure we can't just wear our sect robes?" Su Xiang asked as Wu Ling adjusted the sleeveless midnight blue dress he'd acquired for her just for this occasion. 

The dress was simple and elegant, complimenting both her athletic figure and matching well with her striking sapphire eyes. Wu Ling would have preferred to dress her in something even more eye-catching but he knew her well enough to know that if she couldn't move and fight in the dress then she'd never wear it.
