Chapter 126: An Agreement Between Men

"It's not that simple," Su Jixin said, taking the letter from Wu Ling's outstretched hand. "I'll accept what you've offered but I will have to decide for myself if it's a service I want to use. I'm a Scholar, I've never seriously contemplated solving a problem by having someone killed," he admitted, holding the letter delicately as though it were a venomous snake. 

"My brother is better suited to those kinds of thoughts. I won't reveal anything to him but I will talk to him in general terms before I do anything. This," he said, lifting the letter in his hand. "This is heavier than it should be."

"I understand. You've never killed anyone before. If you haven't carefully considered it beforehand, I imagine it's a difficult thing to approach," Wu Ling said. In truth, he didn't understand. He'd grown up in both a sect of swordsmen who saw themselves as righteous executioners at times and a sect that dealt in murder for hire.
