Chapter Twelve, Ancients; The System.

"I guess I should be answering your questions first huh..." Gwendylin said, Everett's hands cupping her breasts.
She had forcefully put his hands on her chest, but retracted them at the same instant.
"Alright boy, ask away." She said, backing away and sitting down on her bed.
It was hard for Everett to contain his confusion, but he did it anyway. He didn't expect his mother to be such a vibrant character.
"What is an Ancient? And, what are we?" He asked, moving over and sitting next to her on the bed.
"Well... Ancient's are entities that predate... Pretty much everything actually. From what I know, they are people and creatures that were born during the first epoch. Some can be consider gods with how much power they have, and some are just immortal entities that help the less fortunate." She said, rubbing her chin in the process.
"Oh and, there are two ancients that are more powerful than any. More powerful than anything in this world, universe, or even any universe that you can think of likely. They're the two Super Ancient Gods." She added.
"As for what we are... We are... Basically hundreds of thousands of years ago one of our ancestors worshipped an Ancient, the Dova. This ancient decided to bless him with his blood, and a piece of his soul. Effectively this made us offspring of the Ancients, creating a sort of spiritual connection with all of them. Our ancestor developed the bloodline he was given, cultivating it to its limit, before birthing children to pass it on. The bloodline was passed down all the way until about a couple thousand years ago where my great-great-grandfathers entire family tree was eradicated. He raised his son in seclusion, then he raised his in seclusion, and my grandfather broke that cycle, becoming a king of England. But, he was assassinated, and then raised my mother normally. Unfortunately, like most in our bloodline, she didn't awaken at all, and she died by the time I was 30."
A whole lot of information was just dumped onto Everett, but he processed it rather quickly.
"So like, what do the Ancients do?" He asked.
"Okay, I guess I didn't really answer that." She started, chuckling.
"Since we have their blood, there is usually at least one Ancient watching over us. At some point in time, this Ancient will choose whether or not they want to claim you, and if they do want to claim you, you will awaken. You'll bind with them and usually they appear in your head. As a voice, or maybe they project themselves as an image, some being that follows you around and guides you. Oh and when you awaken, the Ancient that awakened you chooses what your talent is. Like I said mines innovation, and I get stronger through inventing things, or even just creating things from scratch, even if they aren't new. When I do that, I can feel myself get smarter, stronger, whatever." She took a pause, taking the moment to breath.
"Basically they just unlock your powers, and then help you. More powerful Ancients can transfer things to you spatially, which is how you got those serums I assume. Ancient's are basically older siblings that are way stronger than you, and find entertainment in making you strong and protecting you while they do so!" She finished, with a smile on her face.
Everett only blankly stared at her, his mind questioning more things internally.
'So I have a system because there's a really cultured and powerful Ancient watching over me... Or maybe it's something totally different.'
{Who knows?}
The robotic voice sounded in his head, making him furrow his brows.
"So how is the voice in your head your grandpa?" Everett asked verbally.
'Are you an Ancient?' He questioned the system.
{Me? No, I am just a system.}
Hearing that, he flared his nostrils, focusing on his mother's next words.
"Well... My grandpa was born probably a thousand years before me... He had a lot of time to increase his prowess with the help of his Ancient, and eventually, he became an ancient himself. He created my mom, and then left his place. I assume he hoped he would be able to claim his own daughter since he was now an ancient, but he couldn't, and he could only fight for ownership of me when I awakened all on my own... But, like I said, he's dead now, apparently he did something wrong with some special type of Ancient... I don't know I don't really know the details about them. The Ancients are mysterious creatures."
Everett couldn't help but notice that she did indeed have a lot to say. His mom had way more information than he thought she would.
'Are you connected to an Ancient? Or, were you gifted to me by an Ancient, or anything like that?' He questioned the system, nodding in understanding to his mother.
{Reach level... 100 at least, and I'll let you know some information.}
Hearing that, Everett scoffed.
That would be a lot of sex...
"Any more questions?" Wendy asked, making Everett focus on her.
"Well... This isn't your real body is it?" He asked.
"Oh... Yeah, It's not. My real body is below us. Probably about... two or three miles down. I'm too strong, it's inconvenient. I could get clobbered by lava spewing from a volcano and I wouldn't even feel it..." She mumbled, as if she had experienced something like that before.
"Wow..." Everett scoffed. Her durability couldn't be toyed with if that was true.
"So since you have no more questions, do you mind at least giving me a name for your Ancient? I know a few, I might know something about who claimed you... Oh and, do confirm what your talent is, was I right?" She asked, a bright smile on her face.
'Can't at least give me a name?'
{...A. I'll give you that. A.}
"Name wise, all I know is A. As for my talent, yeah. I get stronger through sex and that of thing. But my Ancient can also give me tasks to do and I can get stronger that way, but I have a feeling most tasks will be something sexual." Everett replied, using the scarce information the system gave him.
"Ha! I was right! But, A?... Yeah never heard of it."
'Still, I guess you acknowledged that I am backed by an ancient...' He thought in his mind.
"Well... Let's do something. I have no relatives besides you kids. I thought I would have to live a few hundred more years before I would successfully have children that would be chanced with awakening." Wendy smiled, touching Everett's back.
"Do you want to do it with me?... Or perhaps I should call Luther so he can join us?"
