"Class 3-2, please prepare to head to the training hall for the Occupational Awakening Ceremony. Maintain order, and be aware that any unauthorized activity during the ceremony will result in disqualification."
"Class teachers and supervisors, please organize the students for their occupational awakening tasks in an orderly manner..."
The announcement echoed once more through the halls of Yun High School, and the atmosphere in the classroom became incredibly tense.
"Whoa, that was fast! They're already on to Class 3-2. We're up next," a student exclaimed.
"I don't know if I can do it, Poker," another nervously muttered. "My legs feel weak. What if I don't awaken? My dad would skin me alive!"
Zheng Mu, who was also clenching his fists in anxiety, rolled his eyes in response. "Maybe Uncle Cai will toss you into a cement mixer and bury you in the foundation of some building."
Hearing this, Cai Shengkun, Zheng Mu's close friend, stopped talking and pointed a trembling finger at him.
After a moment, he managed to squeeze out a sentence through gritted teeth. "You're just pretending to be calm. You don't usually have shaky legs, but look at you now, you're like someone with Parkinson's!"
"Hmph," Zheng Mu scoffed. "Ever since the catastrophe hundreds of years ago, Blue Star has been a world of occupational warriors and monsters. If we don't receive an occupation granted by the heavens during the 18-year-old awakening ceremony, our lives will be ruined."
"I don't believe you, the perennial top student of Yun High School, aren't nervous about your future," Cai Shengkun said. "This thing doesn't care if you're a good student or not."
Zheng Mu fell silent. Indeed, even though he had been reborn in this world and experienced another 18 years of life, he was still anxious about this critical event.
In these 18 years, not only had he become the school's top student and heartthrob, but he had also witnessed too many talented seniors fail to obtain even a basic living occupation during the awakening ceremony, their lives rejected by fate.
Zheng Mu had his own understanding of this world.
Blue Star's current situation was similar to an MMORPG, and occupational warriors were the "players" of this world.
The specific type of occupation was determined by the heavens, and there were three main categories.
Combat occupations, such as warriors, mages, archers, and assassins.
Support occupations, like priests, formation masters, and beast tamers.
And finally, life occupations that mostly stayed in the main cities and rarely ventured into the wilderness, like alchemists, blacksmiths, and appraisers.
Of course, there were also extremely rare augmented occupations within the same categories, which would immediately become sought-after favorites among major powers once discovered.
In the history of Blue Star's occupational warriors, there were hardly any ordinary warriors who managed to make a name for themselves. Over 80% of the famous ones had rare augmented occupations.
These augmented occupations possessed a much more powerful skill tree and system compared to ordinary occupations.
As long as they didn't make mistakes in the early stages, they would dominate the competition later on.
As his thoughts churned, the announcement rang out again. The awakening ceremony for Class 3-2 had quickly ended, and it was finally Zheng Mu and his classmates' turn.
The students filed out of the classroom in an orderly fashion, and at that moment, Zheng Mu felt as though they were being led from a prison to the execution ground.
"Ah! Stop him!"
Just as they stepped downstairs, a sharp cry of alarm suddenly came from above.
Zheng Mu saw a blur flash before his eyes, and the next moment, a figure appeared at the bottom of the stairs, catching a student who had just leaped off the building. Cai Shengkun, nervous, gripped Zheng Mu's sleeve.
They had seen such situations before and thought they had become numb to them, but when it actually happened to someone in their own class, they still felt a suffocating sensation.
The person had clearly failed their awakening.
"Alright, don't gawk. Maintain a proper attitude. Even if you fail to awaken, you still have a bright youth ahead of you. Being an ordinary person isn't necessarily black and white. The vast majority of us are ordinary people."
Their Class 3 teacher, Xu Chengguang, a warrior with a Level 39 strength who could easily leap three stories high, spoke loudly.
However, his attempt to console them with his different status didn't seem to have much effect at the moment.
Soon, the students silently observed each other and entered the gymnasium.
There were no inspiring speeches about a glorious future or any grand ceremonies.
What awaited them were the leaders of the Dragon Nation Yun Tong City Professional Guild, the Education Department, and the school, all sitting in a row.
"First up, Liang Hai!"
Zheng Mu's eyes flickered. This student was academically excellent and physically outstanding among their peers.
However, when this Liang Hai stood confidently in front of the Awakening Crystal and placed his hand on it, there was no response after five minutes.
That was when Zheng Mu and his classmates witnessed the cruelty of the Awakening Ceremony.
"No! Teacher, give me more time. I can awaken, I definitely can, I..."
Liang Hai was carried away by two indifferent soldiers, one on each side, his desperate screams echoing in the gymnasium as the staff coldly called out the next name.
"Next, Liu Dashan!"
A few minutes later, a burst of light finally emanated from the Awakening Crystal.
"Liu Dashan, combat profession, D-class warrior, ordinary profession!"
Although it was only an ordinary profession, the lowest tier among professionals, the students below couldn't help but envy and congratulate Liu Dashan.
"He awakened! A warrior profession, even though it's just ordinary level, but the warrior community is huge. With some effort, he could become a civil servant in the future."
"It's really the whims of fate. Liang Hai, who was so outstanding, failed to awaken, while Liu Dashan, who always slept and skipped class, succeeded."
"Their lives will be worlds apart from now on."
"Shh, keep it down. We haven't awakened yet. If we offend him now..."
After a brief discussion, and following several awakening failures and ordinary profession awakenings, Zheng Mu's best friend Cai Shengkun's name was finally called.
He nervously stepped forward, and as soon as his hand touched the Awakening Crystal, a different glow emerged.
"Huh? An Amplifier profession so soon?"
The staff and professionals watching from their seats all looked over.
"Cai Shengkun, combat profession, B-class Sharpshooter, an Amplifier profession of the combat profession Gunner."
"Hahaha! Poker face! I can't believe I got an Amplifier profession! B-class!"
Cai Shengkun excitedly waved and shouted at Zheng Mu, who was standing below the stage.
Zheng Mu immediately smiled and sent him a congratulatory round of applause.
Cai Shengkun's future was surely bright. With a B-class profession, he would not only make a name for himself in Yun Tong City but also throughout the entire Black Gold County.
As Cai Shengkun was receiving congratulations from the school authorities, Zheng Mu's name was finally called.

I translated and retranslated my work about 4-5 diffrenty times finding a style and prompt that would work until I found one that I liked. While I tried to keep things as consistent as possible there will always be some. After reading and reading the same chapters over and over again I can get blind to some of the more obvious ones due it them being correct in past itterations but wrong in the one I went with. If you find any please just leave a paragraph note and I will get to it when I can.
