The intense force that was behind the attack caught the arkdelia off guard, sending it tumbling backward and slamming onto the wall. Before it could even attempt to recover, Isaac was already in motion, his hands gracefully stretching downward as the flaming spear materialized in his palms.
WHOOSH!
As the arkdelia regained its footing, the flaming spear swiftly departed from Isaac's hand, slicing through the air with unparalleled speed. It found its mark with deadly accuracy, piercing through the weakened exoskeleton on the creature's forehead and exiting through the back of its head. The flaming spear impaled the arkdelia against the wall, leaving it no chance to recover as it let out its final roar.
Issac's heart pounded in his chest as he took a deep breath. His keen eyes swept across the rubble filled battlefield, ensuring no lurking arkdelios remained. With a mixture of exhaustion and triumph, he finally exhaled, saying, "Seems like that wraps up the second wave..."
Issac stepped over the rubble and debris, venturing deeper into the ominous dungeon. With each step he took, he couldn't help but sense that the walls and ceiling were receding, causing his surroundings to expand. The once narrow underground cave was actually transforming into a vast expanse as it began reaching the end.
Raising his eyebrows in suspicion, Issac couldn't help but wonder about this unusual feature of the dungeon. Typically, a dungeon being an underground cave would imply narrow and confined pathways, posing more dangers in terms of limited mobility and maneuverability. Thus, the fact that this dungeon was expanding as he moved deeper and deeper would generally be considered a good thing by many. However, Issac could feel an unsettling feeling gnawing at the back of his mind, which was making him question the real reason for this peculiar phenomenon.
"This doesn't feel right..." Isaac whispered to himself, as he could feel a sense of foreboding growing stronger. His gaze then shifted upward, straining to see through the dimly lit walls, and his eyes widened with shock and surprise. Large claw marks that were unmistakably the work of an enormous monster, adorned the upper section of the walls, cleverly concealed from plain sight. The discovery sent a shiver down his spine, and he became even more careful of his surroundings.
"Oh yeah, that's definitely not a good sign," Issac let out a nervous chuckle as he came to the realization that his fears were well-founded. The dungeon's expansion could only mean one thing - the final monster awaiting him was extremely large in size.
'The question is, what kind of monster is it?' The burning question echoed in his mind as Issac moved forward. He knew that within B-rank dungeons, there were only a few creatures that reached such colossal proportions. His mind raced with possibilities, trying to prepare himself for the eventual foe that he was going to face.
Could it be a fearsome Crimson Lion? Perhaps a formidable Vexidoom? Or the dreaded Skulldraug? Isaac's mind raced with potential adversaries for his final encounter when suddenly...
Isaac's eyes suddenly flickered for a second, and he halted abruptly. In an instant, he tuned his senses to the surrounding environment, focusing keenly on his hearing, and a faint sound that seemed to be coming from the distance reached his ears.
Sizzle! Sizzle!
The sound of dried leaves? No, that couldn't be right. Isaac shook his head. This was an underground dungeon; there isn't supposed to be any foliage inside the cave. He narrowed his focus on the mysterious noise once again, his expression turning serious.
A primal instinct surged within Issac, sending warning signals of imminent danger tingling through his body. He closed his eyes, channeling all his focus into the faint sounds that surrounded him.
Right then!
BAM!
All of a sudden, a colossal shadow lunged through the air, its dark form hurtling towards the very spot where Isaac stood, poised to strike. Yet, in a display of his superhuman reflexes, Isaac sprang into action, evading the imminent attack with a gravity-defying leap, soaring through the air like a trained acrobat. With unmatched precision, he clung to the ceiling, activating his shoes in order to grip the surface effortlessly.
"You have got to be shitting me.." Issac muttered under his breath as the debris soared towards the ceiling, his unwavering gaze fixed on the colossal creature that had launched the attack.
GRRRAAAR!
The monster before him was enormous in size, stretching an impressive 20 meters in length and towering at a staggering height of 6 meters. Its striped tail alone measured over 5 meters, a sight that would make even the bravest shiver, and the creature's imposing size surpassed that of a truck.
The beast's appearance was both awe-inspiring and horrifying. It possessed a wolf-like form, yet it stood upright on two powerful legs, as if fusing human and animal attributes. Through its black fur, white stripes traced its body, adding an eerie contrast to the dark silhouette. Strangely, its spinal cord protruded outward from beneath its flesh, an unsettling sight that intensified its menacing presence.
The Dreadmaw, which was the name of the creature that attacked him, stared up at Issac, its cold, yellow eyes fixated on him, which sent shivers down his spine.
With a menacing display of dominance, the dreadmaw raised its head and let out a deafening howl that reverberated through the dungeon, announcing its presence with guttural ferocity. The echoes of its fearsome cry bounced off the walls, amplifying the intensity.
Awoooooo…!
"Of all the large monsters, it had to be a dreadmaw.." Isaac clenched his teeth, cursing his luck as he instinctively covered his ears to shield them from the terrifying howl. His hand stretched out, summoning a flaming spear that materialized in his palms.
Whoosh!
With a determined focus, he swiftly descended, aiming to strike the dreadmaw's back while it was mid-howl.
BAM!
The spear found its mark on the dreadmaw's back, abruptly silencing its howl and eliciting a growl of pain and anger. Isaac's quick strike ignited the creature's fury, and its eyes began to glow with a menacing purple hue.
BZZZZZ!
Within a split second, purple lightning bolts began to surge and crackle from all over the creature's back, forcing Isaac to make a quick retreat in order to evade the dangerous attack.
Whoosh!
Issac desperately tried to evade the onslaught of lightning bolts, but there were literally too many of them, which proved to be overwhelming, and one struck his chest, sending him hurtling backward until he crash-landed on the ground with a resounding noise.
"Gah!" Issac grunted in pain as he struggled to get back on his feet. But unfortunately for him, there was no time to rest, as the dreadmaw swiftly ascended into the air and then shot down like a meteorite, growling menacingly as it approached him.
Whoosh!
With lightning reflexes, Isaac executed a swift backflip, leaping away from the spot just before the dreadmaw's enormous paws crashed onto the ground. The impact of the attack shattered the terrain into pieces, sending a storm of dirt and rocks flying in all directions.
"Goddamn it!" Isaac's words echoed through the chaos as the dust and debris obscured his view of the monster, leaving him unable to mount an immediate counterattack.
Whoosh!
Amidst the swirling debris, the dreadmaw's clawed hand shot out with lightning speed, hurtling toward Isaac. Luckily, Issac had anticipated the attack, and with lightning fast reflexes, he swiftly contorted his upper body backward, executing a graceful roll that allowed the deadly claw to narrowly miss him. Without wasting another moment, the dreadmaw charged forward through the debris, determined to claim its prey.
GRRRAAAR!
The dreadmaw's eyes glowed bright with anger as it unleashed a furious roar, aiming straight for Isaac with its massive claws outstretched.
WHAM!
Summoning his holographic shield just in the nick of time, Isaac managed to block the creature's strike. However, the force of the impact was so overwhelming that it shattered the shield and hurled Issac backward. He crashed onto the dungeon wall with a loud noise, feeling the intense pain coursing through his body.
"Guah! Fucking hell.." Issac was able to land on his knees, his hand instinctively reaching for his chest. He felt the rip in his shirt and noticed a small scratch that barely drew blood. It wasn't a big scratch, and it was barely bleeding, but served as a reminder for Issac that this battle wasn't going to be a cakewalk.
