"Jessica," her father said, his voice carrying the familiar lilt of affection.
He smiled— a soft, kind smile, one she hadn't seen in years but had never forgotten. It was a smile that spoke of love, no words needed.
Ignoring the tension in the room, Jessica stepped forward to meet him. Her focus was solely on her father. Her chest tightened, tears threatening to spill as she embraced him.
On the other side, Delilah had her gaze fixed on Claudia and Chloe, who stood stiffly, their eyes darting between Hunter and Alex, as though trying to piece together a puzzle that made no sense.
