Chapter 56: Pep Talk

Delilah woke up determined to put the previous day behind her. She went through her morning routine with a sense of purpose, reminding herself of her goals and priorities.

After she was ready for work, she came out to the living room and the first thing she noticed was the smell of coffee that filled the air before she found Hunter seated in the dining, sipping from a cup of coffee and scrolling through his phone.

He was dressed in one of the suits they had gotten the previous day, and she couldn't help noticing how handsome and dignified he looked despite not wearing his tie.

If she didn't know better she would think he was some CEO, and not her broke husband. She paused at the thought. Husband? No. She couldn't start thinking of him that way.

Hunter looked up, and his lips curved in a smile when he saw her standing there. Seeing the frown on her face as she stared at him, he couldn't help wondering what she had been thinking about.
