Feeling impatient, James quickly opened his [Status] and threw his Stat point into AGI.

His stats were now double his starting ones. Feeling content with his growth, James turned his sights back to the wolf. Until now he would ignore the corpses of his prey since he was a skeleton and felt no hunger. This time it was different. He could feel a wonderful smell emanate from the corpse of the wolf.
He was sure it wasn't because of the meat, but something else that was, by his rough estimates, located where the heart should be. Using his sword as a kitchen knife, James began to carve his way to the heart of the wolf, until finally, he could see something. It was a small, round blue crystal. "[Inspect]!"
[Name: (none)
Object: Mana core
Size: 20 MP]
"Yesss! Finally another fantasy component." The skeleton's hand inched towards the crystal, however, the moment it touched it, a faint slurping sound was heard before the crystal disappeared.
[Absorbing Mana]
[Mana absorbed, your new MP limit is 14.]
"What? I can increase my Mana by absorbing the core? Is it not a crafting ingredient? And only a 10 point increase? 50% efficiency, this is outrageous." The skeleton raged and swung his sword in frustration. "Well, at least I feel a bit fuller."
It was amazing. James had already steeled himself to a life without the pleasures of eating, but this sudden discovery changed everything. If he could feel the juicy, juicy mana in his bones, then he might also feel other things. This sprung a new goal for him, and now, with renewed vigour, the skeleton went back to hunting.
...
[Absorbing Mana]
[Mana absorbed, your new MP limit is 50.]
"Uhhhh, my stomach hurts... even though I don't have one. Have I had too much? Never, I refuse to accept that! The Mana is too juicy! Hahaha! well, I should check my status, I think I'll be level 5 soon."

James had managed to level up all of his skills except the swordsmanship. It seemed to be ridiculously high level. When his [Inspect] levelled up it started showing grades for things, and promptly said that the Swordsmanship was ungradable. This only made James question the absurdity of a lowly Goblin finding the sword that possessed it.
Now that he had been in this dungeon for what he felt was days, he could actually recognize some of its parts. In short, the dungeon was a huge cave-like labyrinth mostly inhabited by goblins, wolves and sporadically some other species. James felt a bit disappointed that he had still not found the exit, but with his focus being on levelling up and eating mana cores he didn't really care. He did find something interesting though. In one of the wider parts of the cave, he had found an altar-like structure. When he saw it, he felt an attraction to stand atop it, but his weird jumble of memories told him that it was a prime way to die in movies. What movies were, he didn't know.
Finishing his reminiscence session, James turned his attention to his XP bar. Only 5 XP left to level up. He didn't know why, but reaching level 5 seemed like some kind of milestone. James turned his head in another direction. He could feel Goblins there. This new "searching" ability had been given to him by the [Goblin Hunter] title. Not only did it gave him a sixth sense for locating Goblins, but it also gave him instinctual knowledge of their weak spots. Those were, rather logically, their head and joints. Their thick skin was stretched on these locations and thus provided little protection against slashing attacks.
Slowly, keeping himself to the shadows, James made his way towards the Goblins. He used to be puzzled as to how there were so many of them, but when he had seen one of them literally get born out of the wall, he no longer questioned it. Around 40 meters in front of him he finally spotted them. It was a duo of naked, green, small, ugly Goblins. "Prey." was the only thought going through James's head right now. Since the goblins like moving around, he simply hid behind a rock protrusion and waited for them to come to him.
"Schlap, schlap..."
Their footsteps came ever closer. He could even hear them take breaths. The moment they entered his reach he swung his sword from his hiding place, splitting the skull of the first Goblin in two.
[Congratulations, you have killed a Cave goblin. 5 XP awarded.]
[Congartulations, you levelled up!]
James couldn't entertain the messages floating in the corner of his eye, for the other goblin had suddenly jumped on him in an attempt to make him let go of his word. The Goblin, enraged by the death of its comrade, punched him continually. His ribs once again started cracking.
"Wham!"
He had managed to hit the goblin with his free hand. The creature became dazed, and loosened its grip, finally letting go of the ribcage. James flung the creature away from him, raised his sword once again, and beheaded it, ending the fight.
