"The roads to your places are all jammed, what are you going to do" Becca turned to face the two in the back after checking her phone.
"If I get an umbrella I can walk the rest of the distance," she said.
"Ahh, both Becca and Nathan exclaimed.
"It's not that far " she assured.
"You just got better and want to walk such distance, and in the rain. Why don't you wait at the boss's place since it is nearer and leave after the traffic is lesser " Becca suggested?
"Huh, no I can't do that. He already offered me a ride I can't stay at his place now "Alex disagreed.
"Why not am okay with it, " Nathan asked.
Alex blinked and turned to Becca who raised her eyebrows in question," You're not going to get home soon with this weather and traffic and your all drenched which is bad for your health. You can walk there cause your ankle just healed it will be bad for it if you do so just go wait at his place and also get a change of clothes until the rain and traffic stop ". Becca smiled.
Alex sighed," I hope you don't mind ".
"I already said am okay with it " he smiled.
She leaned back as they drove off, biting her lower lip to hide her trembling body.
Nathan turned to her again," Is that a cake? "he asked pointing at the box is had
She nodded," Yes, it's my birthday today. Mom isn't around to make me a cake so I decided to buy myself one "
"It's your birthday, and no one is around to celebrate it? "
"Mmm, but I understand 'cause they all had things to do. And am happy just getting a cake "she smiled.
He watched her and sighed," Can we celebrate it together? "he asked.
"Huh? "
"Since no one from your family is around to celebrate it with you, can I join you instead," he said.
"If your fine with eating wet cake, cause most of it got soggy in the rain " she giggled.
He noticed the sparkle in her eyes and smiled," It's your birthday anything is fine "

Alex laughed," No need, just help me eat this cake "
"Can I join too?" Nathan's driver said," it's been long since I had cake. "
Alex turned to Nathan with a smile," If your boss is okay with it, then yes you can have a piece "
