Benjamin's POV

(bold is Kei, Benjamin's wolf and underlined are Benjamin)

I wake up whimpering in pain as I scanned the unfamiliar area around me, pictures of people adorning the walls especially that of an unfamiliar Chinese woman and wolf.

Majority of the pictures contained the two of them only, 'This isn't the packhouse, where the hell am I? Where is Jax? How am I gonna protect our pups if I'm injured and in a stranger's home? Goddess knows where on earth am I'

As if anything could get any worse, I noticed the same woman from the pictures reading a book at the other end of the room quietly and slowly got up upon hearing my whimpers with a gentle smile.

"Hey there, I'm not sure if you can understand me but I want you to know I'm not here to hurt you and in fact, I'm here to help you get back to your pack alright?" I nod slowly to her in response but still kept a glare at her for insurance. After all, you can't fully trust anyone, human or not.

She opens a box and takes the magnifying glass out to check my bandaged paw with a small sigh of relief as she pulled away with a small smile ,"I think you can be returned to your pack after a week, I know its very unfamiliar to be with a complete stranger but I can assure you I mean no harm alright?"

I can't trust her at all, she might be a hunter for fuck's sake Benjamin! She even reeks like one! Can't you be more careful for the pup's sake? For Jax's sake?

Shut up Kei, I know that perfectly well but we can't move either right? So let's just trust her a little, if she wanted to kill us she would have done it earlier in case you forgotten what happened earlier? And if you can see, she poses with a werewolf in many of her photos so I'm sure she isn't a hunter alright? Just trust me this once.

I rolled my eyes internally as I argued with my stubborn and angry wolf Kei, he was right on how I couldn't trust this human who reeked of hunter's stench but yet I couldn't find any hint of hunter intent on her with my nose so I trusted her a little I guess?

Fine! Don't blame me if things go wrong and ruin your life and the pup's life, dumb humans and their brains and over-inflated egos.

He huffed and went back in my mind clearly upset, I tried to contact him but he wouldn't reply me, he's probably upset but I can't do anything.

I looked up to the area where the woman was but she wasn't there, 'Where is she? I hope she isn't doing anything to harm me knowing I can't defend myself'.

I whimper softly in an attempt to get her attention and it seems to work as she rushes from wherever she was holding a ladle and it becomes clear to me she was cooking, "Sorry! I didn't notice you needed me so I went to cook dinner for two although I'm not sure if you like what I would cook"

I blinked at her in curiosity and wonder as to how can she be so kind and helpful to a stranger, a wolf stranger much less.

She seemed to notice my gaze and chuckled softly at me, "you're probably wondering why did I save you right? Well just know I have no intent on harming you or your pup. I have always admired werewolves so I hope that answers your question"

I nod in acknowledgement and licked her hand to let her know I agreed and she laughed as she felt my lick, 'At least now I know I'm safe' I thought to myself as I slowly went into a deep slumber to fully rest after all the chaos......

Hui Zhong's POV

Noticing that it finally fell asleep, I got up and headed back to the kitchen to finish the stew for the both of us, 'I hope it likes my cooking and doesn't find it too spicy.' I chuckled as I took a taste and frowned upon its spice level being too high 'I should probably add some more honey to lower the spice, this is terrible!'

I sighed and shook my head as I brought out the pot and scooped a portion for myself into a bowl full of rice, 'I wonder where did it come from? Seems like a high ranking warrior to me huh.' I thought to myself as I ate the stew and watched the poor thing, waiting for it to wake up so that it could eat something before I could bring it back to wherever its pack was.

I was snapped out of my thoughts as the poor thing whimpered in pain after trying to get up whilst still injured, I put my food down and rushed towards it. He flinched due to my sudden speed as I tried to help him get back on the couch

Gently, I looked at its paw and helped it back onto the couch slowly while stroking its head to let it know I'm not gonna hurt it, "Hey, I'm not gonna hurt ya alright? if ya need something just make a noise and I'll come over alright?"

It seemed to understand and it licked my hand to which I laughed and pet its head , ruffling its fur and ears.

"Alright are you hungry? I've got some herbal stew for you if thats okay since the herbs can speed up your recovery along with your super werewolf healing and if you don't mind, can you shift back? I have a robe for you here to wear for now so I hope that's sufficient. So I know what pronouns to use on you."

He huffed at me, before slowly whimpering as he began to shift, I slightly cringed at the sound of his bones snapping back into place as his fur slowly disappeared and all that was left was a beautiful young man with blonde hair and green eyes, panting heavily under the blanket, his hands wrapped around his belly as he stared at me with his piercing eyes intently.

I sighed as I handed him the robes and bowl of stew, helping him to change while thinking to myself quietly, 'This is going to be one long day, Goddess give me the ability to stay up without coffee please'
