Death isn't as i had expected to be, there was no golden gates, fiery pits or even an endless oblivion of in-existence waiting for me as i died pathetically from a flying gachapon machine.
One moment i was walking happily having gotten lucky break on a gacha lottery from a game i was playing on my phone and then i heard a sharp screech from somewhere behind me.
Then after turning my head to look at the commotion i was met with a face full of machine with gacha written on its side and then pain followed by darkness.
Then here i am, alive. in the middle of nowhere. Staring at a very familiar floating screen with a very familiar reward.
[ Congratulations! you recieved. <Thousand Buddha Body Scripture> ]
[ Do you want to integrate the < Thousand Buddha Body Scripture>? Y / N ]
It was the exact same thing i won from the game, [Titanic Era], a Xianxia idle game where you earn gold and items just by leaving your character to earn money and item materials by themselves.
From what i remember the <Thousand Buddha Body Scripture> is a single use Mythic character-bound artifact should increase a single character's stats by 1000%.
Does that mean it should do so to me as well?
Staring at the floating screen, i pushed yes, then everything exploded into kaleidoscopic colors that had burned images and insights to the very core of my mind then seared deep into the roots of my soul.
And then darkness consumed me once again.
<><><>
I woke up in the same place where i had blacked out- it seems that the transition from an unfamiliar and comfy bed only happens in novels. dammit!
Where's the beautiful woman that had found me unconscious and near-dead, who would then nurse me back to health and then fall in love with me?
What the hell, the world is so unfair. sob.
A tired sigh then escaped my lips as i pushed myself up. My body felt starved, my arms had become incredibly thin and i'm sure that my body too for that matter.
The explosion of knowledge i gained from integrating the <Thousand Buddha Scripture> should have killed me and left me a vegetative state just from taking in obscene amounts of information. If i were to compare it, it was like inserting 1000 zetabytes of data to a 1 gb flash drive and somehow fitting it all in.
I think the information had been ingrained into my soul somehow. My head was aching trying to think about it, and so was my stomach.
My somewhat chubby body had been reduced to a skin-stretched tightly over a skeleton, my fats had been cannibalized by my body to supplement my mind and strengthen my meridians.
As of this moment, my body had started cultivating the <Thousand Buddha Body Scripture>, absorbing the qi of the heavens that pervade the air but it was too slow.
It wasn't enough, right now i was both physically and spiritually starved, i needed to eat something; anything that contains Qi to support my cultivation.
Looking around in wonder, i discovered that my senses have improved. It wasn't in a sense that i could see farther or smell better but i have gained a new awareness in my mind. A sixth sense that tells me that a few meters behind me under a small hole is a nesting rabbit with a bit of life qi swirling inside its small body.
I stalked slowly as i turned, taking small steps forward and towards where i could feel the pulsing qi.
the rabbit somehow sensed me too as i was just a breath closer and attempted to move deeper but with a smooth motion i shoved my hand deep into the whole and caught it.
I won't narrate what happened next but it was bloody, barbaric and raw. Let's just say that my survival instincts overcame my need for cooked food. From that i wandered around the vicinity hunting for qi. From fruits to herbs to insects, any thing that i had entered my senses that contained qi had been digested.

< Entry-level Thousand Buddha Body Scripture Achieved >
< Status Screen Initialized >
< Entry Buddha Body Gained >
"Stats" i muttered absently after reading the notifications.
[ Name: Jin ]
[ Cultivation: Mortal Buddha Body (1st Dan) ]
[ Talent: Qi Cultivation (Low-grade) / Body Cultivation (Perfect-Grade) ]
[ Skills: None ]
[ Abilities: None ]
[ Blood-Line: Human ]
[ Items: None ]
[ Gacha Points: 0 ]
Seeing that i achieved the first stage of the [ Thousand Buddha Body Scripture ]. i felt elated. The scripture itself is incredibly powerful and much deserved to be called mythical-level. From what my memories tell me, achieving Mortal Buddha Body would allow me create a clone of equivalent power for each small realm i entered, which means i get to have 9 clones when i reach the 9th dan of the mortal buddha stage, Then 50, after that 100, then 500, then a 1000 clones.
To reach the next i would have to re-merged with my clones and break through Transcendent Buddha Body Stage which would allow me to split and merge with my 9 clones at will.
Not only does the 10 clones have the same power, merging all 10 clones at ones increases my power by 10% each meaning 100% increase in physical power.
The Low-grade talent in Qi cultivation did bother me at the moment, it was why despite using the < Thousand Buddha Body Scripture > absorbing the Qi from the air was too slow so i was forced to use my body instead to intake the Qi through eating.
Is this the reason why buddha is fat?
Let's not think about that for a moment. What i do know was the scripture itself and the insights that had been forcefully seared to my very soul and mind had turn my body-cultivation talent to a perfect grade. I'm sure that i would be able all types of body cultivation manuals and scriptures given enough time.
Moving on, i remembered that i gained as of this moment i don't have any [ Gacha Points] as listed on my status screen but it wouldn't hurt to see what it's all about, i now know that saying my status shows me may stats. With that i mind i said, "Gacha"
And a *Ding* sounded followed by the appearance of an ornate gold and white transparent screen that showed a gachapon machine.
[ Use the Ultimate Gachapon and obtain great rewards! ]
[ Items ] [ Consumables ] [ Special ]
It was the same gachapon system as the one from the game i played but are the rules still the same?
Items pertains to the materials that could be used for crafting equipment but this also include equipment itself which is quite rare too.
Consumables vary from food that increases character stats for a limited amount of time, commonly used for boss hunts, to potions, scrolls and even incredibly rare permanent stat upgrade items. What they all have in common is that they could all only be used for limited amounts, most only once but a few rare once could be used up to 10 times before using it all up.
Special, as the name implies that the rewards could be obtained vary. From items to consumables to special skills. This includes the < Thousand Buddha Scripture > which exists under the special items category which could only be obtained in the [ Special ] option with a 0.002 chance to do so.
It was quite frankly, a miracle that i had gotten it. Most of the time only common items could be gained in the special category but my luck seems to have balanced itself out by killing me in the process of getting it then.
Sigh. The difference between the three gacha options is how much [ Gacha Points ] each cost, the [ Consumables ] is the least expensive which could be rolled for 1 gacha Point each time, 10 gacha points for the [ Item ] and a whopping 100 gacha points for the [ Special ] category.
Though for that matter how do i obtain gacha points now? back then i had to pay 1 dollar for 10 gacha points but right now the system isn't giving me any options in exchanging money for points, then again i don't really have money on my person as of the moment.

Well... that was convenient...
But who am i to look the gift-horse in the mouth? immediately i started walking towards a random direction, taking a few detours to snatch plants rich in qi and just gobbling them and hunting small creatures unfortunate enough to cross my path.
Hello readers, i'm Near Apex and i'm a simple lover of eastern novels and i had decided to try my hand in making my own.
This is frankly a test. I'm gonna try and dish out a 1500 words per chapter at most and 1000 words minimum.
Also, i'm an amateur author so please bare with me. Criticisms are welcome as i want to try and improve upon my writing. Also english is not my 1st language.
