Now that he has a cocoon around him, protecting him from the Dementor's direct touch, Alex crafted some other energy balls. Installing a simple launcher in the glass bubble, he peppered the Dementors surrounding him, while recalling the others balls.
During the following hour, Alex would snipe the swarm, reducting the 400 strong Dementor, in only a bunch of fleeting twelve.
Since the remaining Dementors fleet to the lower level, searching for an escape route, Alex exited the dome, and collect the goo slattered on a thick layer, all around him. Done, he sealed the level, before deconstructing everything above.
In processing this way, before starting to condemn every corridor, Alex slowly erases the prison, while trapping any wandering dementor in the structure, waiting for him to collect them. With the Dementors' disappearance and their influence in the weather, the sky cleared, leaving only greying cloud and cold temperature, a few degrees above 0.
~~~
While Alex enjoyed the moment, gathering building materials, corpses, and remaining Dementors, the last one wasn't of the same mindstate. Since their apparition, Dementor had always been the ruling power, feeding on everything, without real predators, as only confinement wards, Patronus and medallion were able to keep them at arm's length, but never kill them. All of this was put in an end today.
They had first rejoiced, seeing a free meal appearing on it own volution in the island, and even if they were wearing a medallion, they wreaked havoc, allowing them to feed on some escaping inmate.
Without the jailer to stop them, they had feed indiscriminately on anything not able to stop them.
The feast had stopped sudden when they felt the old wards activate from the first time since five centuries. The had to assist, powerless, as their meal was stolen from them, and bare five messy souls, the swarm, was left hungry.
The wards had finally failed, they immediately launch themselves inside the tower, searching for some uncanny leftover meal. Only a single was left from the hundreds of prisoners, and before them could even feed on it, the tower fell. Never before something like this had happened, which was nothing to the feeling that subtly grip them, fear.
Never before Dementors had felt their existence threatened, but now? Infernal balls turned to be the ban of their existence, and the swarm had rapidly been exterminated.
They attempted to flee, but no matter what, the last meal trapped them, one by one, turning their brethren into nothing less that goo.
~~~
The disappearance of the tower and their monstrous jailer would be only discovered weeks later when the remaining of what was once the British community attempted to jailbreak some of their family and for some, the only leader they had left, Albus Dumbledore.
None of those wishes would be answered as not even the rock on which the island was once raised was left in the dreaded sea.
The lack of the tower, and more specifically the Dementors, would send the ICW into chaos, urging them to send Aurors' teams roam the old continent to found the creatures. Some of the most intelligent among the wizards would need three other weeks before they propose to scrutinise the muggles information for any attack, to be heard.
~~~
Done with the Dementor, Alex, finished erasing all trace of the dreaded tower. He was surprised to found a mangy mutt who survived the purge and the crumbling edifice.
Before Sirius Black could speak after turning back, Alex impales both of his knives, deep in the man chest, making the tips jut from is back.
Sirius could only look with a wide gaze as his godson stabbed him.
"I would have never thought that I would be able to get rid of you myself, your piece of shit! Don't worry, you furry fuckbuddy will be the next, and I would be get rid of the four parasites that led to Lily death." Alex spat ted venomously at his face.
"Harry!" Weeze Sirius, unable to believe that the godson that had allowed him to remain sane would be the one ending his life, before crumbling to dust.
Alex despited the man so strongly that he didn't even gather his dust, leaving the wind to scatter them to the four wind.
Taking the mithril nugget he obtains from the man, he stored it in a particular box, before turning to the island's centre, where the tower stood not far ago.
'Did you feel it?' Asked Alex to CS, even if he knows there was no need, as he would be aware of anything Alex would feel.
-Yes, better take a look before something nasty happen.- CS responded, as serious as Alex had been.
Moving to an unseemingly corner, Alex vanishes the rock's surface layer on twenty centimetres, revealing a staircase carved in the stone. Sending few Lumos orbs, he sealed the exit back, unwilling to leave any possible exit route.
Climbing down the ominous stairs, he rapidly sinks underwater, before accessing a vast subterranean cave. Carefully looking around, and feeling the air, he didn't detect any wards but still stay cautious. Charms his foot silent, his ears perk up at the rhythmic sound he caught further.
Before turning at the last corner, he dismisses the orbs, and slowly made his way, a knife in hand. Gazing at the naturally lit chamber while remaining concealed, Alex's eyes widen at sight, before clamping hard on his emotions.
~~~
At the end of the tunnel, the chamber wasn't that large, only around the size of a common-room in Hogwarts. But it wasn't the chamber itself that matter, but it's walls and floor. The ground was so much littered with snapped bones, that a small mountain was raised in the middle, human bones. On the walls, dark glyphs were drawn in a matter oozing pure evilness.
Never before had he felt runes oozing any attenuated magic. Raw magic, yes, but it had always been neutral, even for the worst dark artefact, as it was only how the cluster was turned that give them their power. But those glyphs were of another kind; their magic was inherently evil.
Even if the language was foreign to him, he could catch some glimpse of it through the feeling the wards were given.
-They weren't defective, but made that way, it here that the rest of the sacrifice magic should have gathered.- CS whispered as low as possible, influenced by the area. Even if he knew there was no need, the^place gave both a feeling of unease and distress.
Looking at the top of the mount, a mass informs slowly moving, like a heartbeat. Both Alex and CS could feel that the thing was in some sort of deep slumber, it states forced by the lack of magic needed to keep it alive, gathered by the inmate previously above.
~~~
He never felt something like this, but the creeping vibes were the same that Dementors, only stronger, and viler.
-Is that...- Started CS, but unable to finish his sentence, fear the outcome.
'I think it is.' Confirm Alex, knowing what his companion was thinking.
-We need to get rid of it, now!- Whispered CS hurriedly, being too uncomfortable in the place.
'I know, but we never were able to learn the natural weakness that Dementors, what if we wake it up? Even if it weakened, this thing had as much energy that the spot of crossing lay lines under Hogwarts!'
-And it leach of a nod of two just under, and had been feeding on the prison inmate magic for the last five centuries.-
Suddenly, Alex seems to realise something. 'What if we were wrong before?' Alex says, his mind working at full speed.
-What do you mean?-
'What if the Dementors weren't feeding on souls to survive, but to ...'
-... To feed that thing.- Cut CS, realising what Alex was thinking, not like for a bit what it could mean. -You need to suck it dry asap!-
'The energy ball won't be able to gather such a quantity of energy! And I can't throw multiple at him; they would conflict and only give the reverse, he would feed on my magic that powers them.'
-Do you think you can make a large ball, or made in sorts that it can house that much power?- CS asked, really worried about the consequence such a thing would release if left alone.
Alex bitted his thumb's nail, running calculation and myriad of arrays and combination in is head.
Frowning for a few instants, he said nothing but slowly retreat without a sound. Making his way back until feeling sufficiently far, her obstructed all tunnel, to become wholly enclosed and lower risks of being discovered.
~~~
Taking out a mat, he sited, before starting to take various material. Taking a deep breath, Alex began to take a mithril brick and a bottle containing the magical liquid gold. Taking one of the small cube similar to the other, he put the brick of mithril in, before pushing his magic inside the side in front of him, sporting a small circle for his index fingertip.
As the furnace heated the mithril brick to a liquid state through the furnace heat, Alex injects as much magic as possible inside, saturating the metal with his energy.
When the circle around his index finger turned a light green, he took his hand off and left the furnace for a moment. His hands-free, Alex moulded clay to obtain a ring cast. Done, he activates the array on the bowl who cooked the clay, fixing the cast.
Putting the bowl under the tap on the cube, he slowly opens it, letting trickle liquid mithril. While the mithril spill inside the cast, he dripped liquid gold, drop after drop. Carefully observing the mixing metal, he retrieved the bottle when the alloy took a golden-green colour.
Partially cooling the alloy, Alex mind, still running through countless calculation and mix, suddenly made appears an idea out of nowhere. He would never act rashly in normal time, always ascertain his assumption before starting, but this time, he feels that it was the right thing to do shutting the pipe.
While he rarely refines and forges through his hands, it was undeniable that Alex was one of the most knowledgable for magical metal reaction and handling, having surpassed dwarven and goblins since long.
~~~
Rapidly preparing a second bowl, took an ingot of ordinary steel, containing 8% of carbon. Alex added the ingot to the still melted mithril stored in the cube. As mithril had a higher melting temperature than steel, its rapidly melt, and under the seed of Fyendfire blast, most of the mass was evaporated, refined in a similar way than liquid gold.
With the new material's inclusion, Alex re-started to feed magic to the forming alloy, adding ingot of steel to reach the perfect ratio. After the fifteenth two-kilogram refined steel bar, the alloy attains a state of saturation, made of fifty gram of mithril and fifteen gram of magical steel.
Rather than cast the new alloy, Alex took out a chunk of aquamarine, and crushed it to dust, slowly adding to it. Feeling the furnace starts to shake dangerously under the magically saturate alloy, Alex didn't even have the time to sweep away his sweat dripping from his forehead under the mental and magical effort, focussing his entire mind on the daunting task.
A few seconds before a sure magical explosion, he nearly ripped the tap off, pouring the furnace's content in the newly prepared bowl. Once entirely poured into the bowl, he didn't cool the mix through the enchantments and directly breathed out on the matter in fusion.
Due to the sheer coldness of Alex frost ability, the matter flashes freeze. As he blows softly on the formed mist above the bowl, he delicately retrieves the formed ring. Due to the flash freeze, and a magical reaction, all the aquamarine's impurity had formed a solid dark green crust on the surface.
Injecting a sliver of magic in the size-palmed ring, the outer shell shatter, revealing a glittering smooth ring of artic blue coloured crystal. If one were to look carefully, he would see veins pattern made of a silvery-green metal.
~~~
Alex and CS observed the created mineral hybrid for a second, marvelling at the creation before Alex take a brief break. Never before his craft had pushed him so far, needing an inhuman amount of concentration and exhaustion. While his magical reserve was far from being completely mature, his rapid growth spurt had made them grow by leap and bond, similar to that of seven-year students, along with a near-perfect control.
If the task, until then, had been exhausting to the core, he was about to start an even more dangerous part. This time, he would not work on the two rings without an open and direct exposure to the Fyendfire seed.
here today chap, I expect to start the new world around Christmas or very near, so wait for it^^
