Chapter 69: Chapter 69: House of lords II

The time for the session to begin neared, and so, the members of the house of lords took it upon themselves to form two lines in accordance to their rank. As customary, to stand on the forefront were the minister of Justice and the grand duke of Suffox.

Charlton excused himself from Hugo and Christopher before walking towards the front. Along the way, he saw Marquess Maurelle Klaus and their eyes met. However, they did not give each other any gesture of acknowledgement.

Reaching the very front, Charlton took his position. As he stood waiting for the doors to be opened, he took note of those who were around him. Since the position 'duke' was inherited, those who currently hold the position were from the older generation. There was no new face, and so, he still knew them all at least by name.
