Serena quickly picked up the dress she was working on and then went inside Leonard's room which she has been using these days. She changed into the dress, quickly fixed herself to look more presentable, and then grabbed the cloak which she used last time.

After she leaves, whether Charlton accepts her or not, she won't return here so she should at least write a letter to Emily and Leonard telling them why she left and that they shouldn't try to find her.
