With Christopher's question, Serena was reminded that since Leonard confronted her that day, she hasn't heard from him. Maybe he's pissed? She felt a bit conscience stricken because she knew that he only said those out of concern. But, whatever. It's good for him to stay out of her business this time.
In any case, she doesn't want her brother's image to be tarnished by something so simple. Thus, she could only come up with a valid excuse. "My brother offered but knowing that he's busy these days given the bill his ministry is tabling, I told him to focus on that. Anyhow, I'm also heading to Annalys room to check on her before leaving." She said as she walked forward, trying to not make obvious her uneven steps.
"I see." Christopher replied as he matched his footsteps with Serena's. Then, as if not being able to remain acting like nothing's wrong, he halted and called. "Serena?"
Serena also halted to look at him in askance.
