Chapter 81: I'm sorry

Jacintha entered the dining room, expecting to see familiar faces. Instead, she found it empty, and her brows furrowed in confusion. Where was everyone? She searched for Devon, Leticia, Cecil, and Quynn, but they were nowhere to be found. Had they gone out? Devon hadn't mentioned anything about going somewhere.

Shrugging, Jacintha thought, 'He'll probably tell me later. If not, it's none of my business.' She walked away from his doorstep, considering her options.

"Maybe I'll spend some time in the library until they return," She grinned. She had missed reading dearly. During her time with Eamon, he had forbidden her from reading, barely allowing her to leave her room.

Pushing aside the dark memories, Jacintha opened the door to Devon's huge library. A warm smile spread across her face as she scanned the shelves for a captivating book.
