FEW NIGHTS LATER
Leticia's eyes fluttered open, her senses stirring as she felt the soft caress of Devon's lips leaving her skin. His arms, once wrapped around her, now lifted, and the bed shuffled as he rose. She missed the warmth of his embrace instantly, and her gaze swept the room. The room was dimly lit, with few of Devon's scented candles on. The soft black sheets, redolent with Devon's scent, rustled beneath her as she sat up, stretching her limbs. She'd fallen asleep after the day's practice and she'd been so tired that she skipped dinner.
She reached for her phone on the nightstand, the screen glowing with the time: 12 AM. Why had Devon left their bed? She shrugged, dismissing the thought. Vampires were nocturnal creatures, after all.
Hmn. It's cooking.
