Chapter 44: A Thank You

As Devon's cold lips touched her skin, Leticia felt a sudden surge of warmth and energy flood through her body. The pain from the cuts began to dissipate, replaced by a soothing sensation that spread like wildfire. She gasped in surprise, her eyes shutting as she felt his power course through her veins.

By the time he pulled back, the cuts were gone along with the pain. It was like they had never been there.

Leticia's eyes widened in amazement, her heart still racing from the sudden rush of energy. "How...how did you do that?" She stammered, her voice barely above a whisper, "Vampires can heal others?" She never knew they also had healing powers. Yes, they heal themselves but others too?

Devon's expression softened, "No. Only I can," he said quietly and before she could ask another question, he spoke again, "Go and freshen up and rest now. You have to regain your energy."
