Chapter 120: Trusting people

"Samantha, listen to me." Alastair forced the girl in his embrace to face him. "You are not a witch. You are an angel, my angel."

"But..."

"Shh," Alastair placed his right index finger on her lips, stopping her from speaking any further. "As I said you are not a witch but an angel." Although he knew that Samantha would blatantly ignore the truth in his words, he still tried his best. However, the girl's reaction said it all, showing that she had taken his other words as an endearment. She did not think herself to be an angel even for a moment.

"You do not have anything to worry about." He assured her, and he could see that it worked. Samantha relaxed visibly. Alastair crossed his legs so that he could sit comfortably with Samantha in his embrace, and she willingly scooted closer to him, much to his joy.
