Secretary Li and Huo Qi zipped their mouths, minded their own business, and acted like they didn't see anything.
Huo Ting Cheng leaned backward on the office chair gazing at Secretary Li.
"Did Huo Yang give you anything important? Something like files or a diary?" He squinted his eyes, gazing at the files lying on his desk that needed his attention.
"Nope, he said, he wanted to meet you personally!" Secretary Li responded while settling down on the couch to work on the files he had been doing on the coffee table before that emergency bell rang.
He was wearing a black suit and he mostly acted as the President of the Huo Conglomerate. When it came to physical availability, he was the one who would show up, Huo Qi was like a bodyguard dealing with things like Nanny Guo. He did the dirty work and cleaned it up.
"Just tell him I flew out; I'm not in the country in the meantime." They have never met nor crossed each other's paths! He didn't care for whatever reasons he had been looking for him for the past three months. If he had anything worth, he could have left it behind with Secretary Li unless it was something illegal and dirty.
"Sure, but I already told him so!" Huo Ting Cheng has never been free to meet anyone, he had time only for his kids.
"Do you think I scared her earlier on?" As much as they had their disagreements, he did wish sometimes that they would live peacefully and in an amicable way.
He didn't want a toxic environment for the kids; he had thought of letting her go, but with the kids, he would always postpone it.
"Maybe she was! Didn't you see her cry?" Secretary Li had already noticed he was feeling guilty, so he had to add more salt to make him feel guilty, and true to the word, Huo Ting Cheng did feel more terrible.
He picked up a file and roughly tossed it away onto the floor.

"Why are you throwing tantrums like a baby?" Secretary Li smacked his lips in annoyance gazing at the scattered printed papers before minding his own business.
This wasn't the first time, he could always vent his anger on things like those for no reason.
