Chapter 2: Accident?

After standing there awkwardly for 5 minutes, Alex decided to make a move.

'Now that I don't know where to go and how this world is fully at all ,I should stay here for a while . If this Liu doesn't want me I'll think about moving after I earn some money but.... I just don't have the heart to leave them alone. What If those people came to bother them again and those two kids should be Yin Alex siblings, basically mine siblings now , running away from responsibility is not good at all. Beside all , first I have to earn money which I still have to learn how to earn from Liu and how this world runs. I can't tell him I lost my memories otherwise he might shoo me away or at worst interrogate me .'

"Umm.... Let's...you guys get up first ."

Alex slowly went toward them but still minded some distance between them as she said that not to scare them , but Liu squinted further in the corner with the kids.

"Hah.." Alex ruffled her rough hairs as she took a long breath and again said slowly.

"Um Liu, why don't you take the kids inside and check if they have any injuries or whatsoever, till then I'll clean up here. After that I have something to talk to you about."

Liu had a fully confused, surprised and frightful face. He was sure that she would beat him directly before grabbing her siblings and throwing them aside. He was prepared to curve into a ball to take her beating and protect his baby too. He was sure she would ask him about why he didn't save her but also stepped on her so that she fell down fully.

But not only that Alex didn't touch them , she gently asked him to treat the kids. Maybe this time she doesn't want to make a scene in front of the kids, but why?

Before he could make more sense to his theory Alex snapped her finger to get his attention back from his thoughts.

Liu flinched and stood up as he quickly took the kids inside their small bedroom, where there were no more than one bed, for Yin Alex only, the rest slept on the thin mattress laying down on the floor.

Liu closed the broken door behind him as he placed the kids down on the mattress. He took out a small, slightly empty and broken first-aid kit , which he had hid under the bed so that when Yin Alex came by fully drunk she wouldn't throw this away in fit of anger.

It's very important to treat injuries and he can't risk this which he got generously from the old lady he had helped once.

He quickly checked on the two boys' injuries which were slightly bruised here and there as he quickly treated them up.

"Are you two injured anywhere else , hmm?" He asked the two cute boys , who shook their heads in a hurry.

The boy who was short and younger is around 7 yrs old, his name Kian and the other big one was older than him is around 15 yrs old, his name is Qian . Both of them are yet to discover their secondary gender of abo.

His baby boy who just turned 3 yrs old is named Haoyu after his ancestor name .

Liu checked if Haoyu had any injuries and breathed a sigh of relief when he discovered that his baby and the kids were not seriously injured but he was.

Liu's glad that he protected them well , looks like all the practice he did with Him Alex to protect the kids has paid off.

"Liu, will the bad guys come again?" Kian slowly pulled the hem of his clothes while asking him with teary eyes as he started crying. Qian didn't cry but frowned instead while holding the small pinch of Liu's cloth tightly, his gaze downward feeling right on his lap. Seeing the tensions Haoyu started crying too.

The only thing Liu could do was hold them in a warm hug and comfort them.

"Don't worry, they won't come back again. I'll make sure of it and protect you all." Liu said as he kissed the three of them on their cheeks, he smiled gently at them , to which the boys stopped crying.

"Really!?" Kian eyes shimmer with enjoyment .

"Yeah , I'll work hard and pay off the money soon so that they won't bother us ."

"It's all that woman's fault , if ... If she hadn't been in so much debt , we wouldn't have to suffer... If only she had-" before Qian could say more Liu slowly pressed his index finger on his lips .

"Shh... Don't say that , I am sure everything will turn out ok soon. Don't worry this is an adult problem and I'll definitely solve it. At this age you guys should study and have fun ,ok?"

"Ok.." both the boys said as the younger one smiled cutely and the other one pouted.

"Ok then how about you guys take a nap while I clean the house and make something for you guys, hmm?"

"Ok!" Kian bounced happily in response to having food soon, as Qian simply nodded.

After putting the boys to sleep, Liu quickly got up as he slowly opened the door while looking downward and slowly locked it up , so that his wife wouldn't be able to make trouble for them in a fit of rage later, until she broke the door, that is.

Afterward, he stood still , eyes wide open as he got more surprised and confused with the scene unfolding in front of his eyes.

His drunkard, abusive and violent wife , who he didn't even have a wedding with , is cleaning the small room?!

It was all clean, the tables were back to their place , all the broken things were cleaned out , the curtains were Sewed back together and placed back in the windows. Floor was all clean and everything was back to its place.

Alex was looking through the kitchen , in search of some food but everything was empty. She stood up as she noticed Liu looking at her .

There was an awkward silence between them. Alex gathered some thoughts and was about to speak but got startled when Liu suddenly walked towards her as he kneeled down slightly and grabbed the hem of her clothes.

His face full of fear and something else in it, his eyes were filled with tears that were held perfectly in his eyes not a chance for them to fall over.

"Please ..w-wife.. I am sorry.. I- I shouldn't have done that , please forgive me. You can hit me but please don't hurt the childrens."

He pledged to her but Alex saw a hint of murderous fire flickering in his eyes as he continued.

"I am sorry ...but the kids were hungry since yesterday... y-you took all the crystals and there was nothing in the kitchen..so I ..I.."

He couldn't continue anymore, as his face got red , he knew what he did was also like a crime but he was angry and desperate at that time.

Alex remembers in the original host's memory, Liu got beaten up by Yin Alex when he asked her for some crystals which she had snatched all of it from him. The kids and he were hungry. There was nothing left to eat in the kitchen at all, not even a little bit of rice to make porridge was left. He had to breastfeed his little haoyu to keep the little boy from starving but he couldn't feed Kian and Qian.

So he followed Yin Alex last night in order to take away the crystal stones from her when she was fully drunk but who knew that she noticed him following her. Yin Alex led him to the top of the cliff to catch him red-handed so that when he tried to escape it would be hard for him to run away quickly.

And so she did catch him but Liu was very desperate to get his crystal back, he didn't like one bit to see those two adorable kids go hungry, he tried to put his hands in her pocket as she held him and tried to push him away and so she did.

She pushed him away but her balance broke away because of stumbling on a rock , she fell backward. Luckily she held herself on the corner of the wall but Liu came forward looking at her with murderous eyes as he stepped on her finger making her scream and let go of her hand.

Liu quickly realised what he had done without looking back or down the cliff he ran away from there. That night he hugged the kids and put them to sleep with his fairy tales storytelling but he was wide awake throughout the whole night until those debt collectors came and started making trouble, he didn't even get the chance to take the crystal stones from Alex.

Liu was relaxed and anxious at the same time , for which Alex , his biggest nightmare, wouldn't trouble him anymore but was shocked about what he did. But now that she is back , he's scared that she would drag him to hell.

"Hey?! Let go ,don't do that, get up first…" Alex quickly pulled him up and stood him up. His gaze was downward, his head hung low , Alex was much taller than him, she could see the top of his head.

'Cute..' was what she thought of him.

"Ahem"

Alex rubbed the back of her neck in awkwardness, Liu looked like he would burst in tears in any second.

"Well why don't we talk about this later , that was an accident anyway…. Oh wait"

Alex pulled out some crystals out of her pocket. These were poking her since the beginning, she remembers in her memory that the crystals are the type of money in this world, obtained by killing the monster or hunting their nest or cave, they are used in many different forms other than money. These crystals have their level too, like A grade crystal or D grade crystal and the one in her hands right now is lower than those.

"Show me your hand" she said, Liu hesitated a little before showing her his hand , he was again confused by her behaviour.

'Accident? Did she say it was an accident? She didn't hit her head too hard right? How can she act like this ?'

Liu got more confused when Alex put some crystal stones in his hand.

"Umm there's nothing left in the kitchen so why don't you go out and buy something to eat…" Liu looked up at her with wide eyes, completely surprised.

"W-What, buy something to eat ?"

"Um.. yeah…"

" Why are you.." Before Liu could finish his sentence, Alex pushed him lightly toward the door.

" Go quickly, I am getting hungry" Liu walked out in surprise and confused look to the market, to which Alex sighed in relief.

"Hah… I don't know what to say anymore . If he is smart enough, I am sure he will get more suspicious of my behaviour. But… I just can't act shitty like that woman…Hah… When the time comes and he finds out that I am not the real Yin Alex, I'll admit it and come clean , after that I'll leave it to him about what he wants to do."

Alex looked back at the room and began cleaning again, after a while she heard crying sounds of a kid coming from the inside room.

"Wah!"

"What do I do…?!"
