Elvira's knees landed on a rocky surface. Her face was inches away from hitting a large and pointy rock. She lifted her body, and her skirt ripped to her upper thigh from getting caught in the spiky roots growing around that rock.
Where was she? Tall, leafy trees with dull red and orange hues surrounded her.
"Come, child," Sebastian's voice came. The scenery shifted, and a temple shaped like an arrowhead appeared.
There was no door, just a giant hole. Without any forethought, Elvira stepped into a long, pitch-black corridor. There was natural light at the very end of it. It seemed like a trap, but witches liked to perform their rituals in dark, isolated places.
"Hurry," Sebastian's voice echoed from the light source.
