Diary POV:
Year 1 Months 5 Day 126 - Log 8:34 P.M - End of Week 18
This week, I tried my idea of incorporating pokémon moves in basketball for our training, and let me tell you, they took it very seriously. It got really competitive over who would score more until, of course, I completely demolished them. That's when things got heated, and from then on, the games have become intense. The training helped them improve their cooperation, accuracy, and they even learned the moves Rest, Endure, Agility, Double Team, Helping Hand, Fling, Tackle, and Quick Attack.
Separately, Empy learned Headbutt as well as Brick Break, and if you haven't already guessed, she was defending. Sekiro learned Slash, Taunt, Agility, Knock Off, and Trick, which is impressive. Vulma learned Pounce, Tailwind, and Laser Focus.
As for me, I finally finished the Midorima template and immediately equipped Sekimori Hitoshi, which started at 10%, probably because cooking with fish and i can use a sword. The next one is Ryo, simply because these two complement each other... and I need to properly learn how to cook a dish without killing someone.
Now, I did get Midorima's memories, and as nice as they were, the memories only confirmed everything I have done for this template. I even went completely overboard. I estimate it will take me until the end of next year to properly finish Sasaki's and Tesla's templates, but realistically, it will probably take me a few months longer to finish Tesla's after Sasaki's.
Year 1 Months 5 Day 147 - Log 9:12 P.M - End of Week 21
With my Midorima template finished, I finally had more time on my hands, which I decided to use to practice swordsmanship and knife skills. Until I can develop something to enhance my physical abilities, this is how it will be. Normal training is no longer effective for me physically; only my templates, which give me a passive boost, and certain technologies or environments can make a difference now. However, I will continue playing basketball with my Pokémon since it has proven to be helpful. Maybe other sports will benefit them in different ways.
Moving on, my excursion this month went well. And, until I complete the two targeted templates, my primary goal is fishing for various kinds of fish, foraging in the forest for vegetables for the cooking-based template and most importantly some seaweed or algae, in attempt to prepare myself. On this trip, I was trying to catch any type of fish, regardless of what it was, and as a result, I caught three largemouth bass—two males and one female. I also noticed that people don't come out into the wild very often. The only time I saw people was when I came across a settlement and the occasional spotting of a person dressed in red with a hat on, moving around.
The first time I brought fish home, it was salmon. I was both unlucky and lucky because the ones I brought back turned out to be male. However, since most fish are natural hermaphrodites, meaning they can switch genders to continue their line, I will have a steady supply of salmon. Salmon are also nutritional powerhouses, as they carry iodine, calcium, copper, iron, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, and sodium. Huh... the more you know.
Year 1 Months 6 Day 154 - Log 8:24 P.M - End of Week 22
A few things to report this week: I didn't realize how long it takes to properly raise a fish. It will probably take me a month to see genuine effects on the fish with the home's help. My saving grace is that I have the essence of home and a kind of guideline to raising fish from Hitoshi's template, which has already increased to 25%.
The percentage increase simply shows that I've gotten better at cooking and knife skills, but even so, I know it will be a while before I can actually reach Hitoshi's level in cooking. I give it until next month or the one after. In the meantime, alongside studying knife skills and cooking with fish and rolls, I began reading the affinity manuals that showed up in my inventory after each template completion, starting with the introductory affinity manual, which explains an affinity and how to get started.
Let me summarize it for you. It turns out that affinities revolve around the typings in the world, along with aura, which is a major component since every typing has a trait attached to it. The manual only explains how to get started, and that's it. It's a short book compared to the Normal affinity manual that I am currently reading, which is labeled: Basic Normal Affinity Manual. It confirms that there is a separate ranking system beyond the F to EX system that I have, but I couldn't say more about this since the manual so far doesn't cover it.
Year 1 Months 6 Day 175 - Log 9:46 P.M - End of Week 25
This month's excursion went okay. Here's how it went: I started with fishing and was lucky, catching six fish in the span of five hours from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. I caught four trout—two male and two female—and one female walleye and one female chiselmouth. After that, I decided to look for a saltwater fish, which meant heading near the ocean. Plus, a beach day next month wouldn't hurt.
Using my compass, I was led to a different village, much bigger than the previous settlement. I refined my search and was taken to the cave I briefly explored with Empy the first time around. This time, I didn't touch anything and left just as fast as I came, but I did find an open beach area with almost no one on it. I say "almost" because there were Pokémon there, but I ignored them, just like I did with the other Pokémon I crossed paths with on my way here. Walking a bit, I found a secluded area for me to use, and all this took me the rest of my day.
Apart from that the normal affinity is mostly a typing that depends on the state of a being, how they are, what they are, their awareness of themselves as a being that is capable it reminds me of the saying "I Am That I Am", which i interpret as anything and everything that i could be, i am. My Life and my Death.
Apart from that, the normal affinity is mostly a typing that depends on the state of a being—how they are, what they are, and their awareness of themselves as a capable entity. It reminds me of the saying "I Think, Therefore I Am," which I interpret as anything and everything that I could be, I am. My life and my death. My being and my nothingness.
Year 1 Months 7 Day 182 - Log 8:14 P.M - End of Week 26
Okay, all I have to report for this week is that my Pokémon moves have all advanced to the intermediate level of mastery, and my templates have all progressed as well. Hitoshi's has reached 40%, mostly due to mastering his knife skills, with cooking and instinctual fish judgment remaining. Sasaki's has reached 50%, and Tesla's has reached 40%.
I'm also trying to understand what normal energy is on a theoretical scale while attempting to access aura. Progress on both fronts is negligible at the moment, as it depends on the individual.
Year 1 Months 7 Day 203 - Log 8:54 P.M - End of Week 29
Okay, this week's excursion was a day at the beach for all of us. While fishing, I caught a male yellow tang, and Empy managed to reel in a female tuna fish after venturing far out for it. Velma tried but couldn't catch anything, while Sekiro used his illusion ability to catch two clownfish. I also gathered some sea grass, which seemed to attract water-type Pokémon, along with pieces of dead coral and the best part—spices like rosemary.
After our fishing trip, we played volleyball with the ball I made last week, and other Pokémon joined in too. It was simple to explain the rules. Needless to say, the ball popped at the end of the day; it didn't survive due to the abuse, though I'm surprised it lasted that long to begin with. Apart from that, it was a really chill day.
For food, I prepared some salmon-oriented dishes along with sushi and rolls that seemed to satisfy every Pokémon's appetite; some even wanted to come with me after tasting it. The challenge also pushed my cooking abilities to the maximum of what I could have done at the moment, and as a result, Hitoshi's template reached 55%. I declined their offers, as I'm not ready for more Pokémon right now, but maybe in the future. I also scanned nearby Pokémon and confirmed my doubts about their abilities—they don't follow the game at all. Anyway, it was a fun and exhausting day for everyone.
Maybe we'll do this again soon, but for now, it's starting to get colder with each passing month. Today it felt more like a summer breeze, which is strange because I'm under the impression that a year has 12 months, but that might not be the case here. I'll need to acquire that kind of knowledge, but it's unlikely given the way I'm avoiding people. Once I'm sure I'm strong enough to face what's out there, I'll reveal myself. At least, I can estimate based on what I know of astrology.
Year 1 Months 8 Day 210 - Log 7:58 P.M - End of Week 30
Alright, so from what I understand, affinities work differently from a Pokémon's move set. An affinity can be used in different creative ways, while a move needs to be used in a set way to activate. I also found out that Pokémon can use affinities too; in fact, they're born with at least one. My progress with aura is coming along, but it's still slow. You know what? I don't think I should train with this specific goal in mind but rather because I want to.
Apart from that, my template is progressing smoothly. My hands are getting good with fish and sea-related spices, and I've pretty much mastered Hitoshi's way of handling a knife. Now, I need to start trying to instinctively judge fish and practice until I get it right. If I can do this, then I can apply the same skill to other areas as well.
Year 1 Months 8 Day 231 - Log 8:31 P.M - End of Week 33
The excursion this week was a simple search-and-find type of trip. I collected various types of wood and spices, and observed different bugs and animals. I even found a moss-covered boulder and chiseled a piece off to see if the home can replicate it. I finished off the day with a walk on the beach, enjoying the Pokémon nearby and sight-seeing.
Apart from that, I am very close to finishing the Hitoshi template—I am at 90%. I have his memories now, but not his ability to judge fish, which is surprisingly hard. However, I can base my instinctual judgment of fish on his experiences. This is helpful, and I think it will make judging things much easier.
Year 1 Months 9 Day 238 - Log 8:37 P.M - End of Week 34
It's been a week since I brought back a bunch of materials and started experimenting with their reactions on the ecology and environment. I also began working on other projects, such as building new areas to grow materials like herbs and spices, flowers, fruit and vegetable greenhouses, trees, mineral mines, and everything of the like.
With the help of the essence of home, I set up separate mineral mines. I also created more space with different kinds of soil for the plants, trees, and flowers. Additionally, I established two separate water bodies for both saltwater and freshwater, as well as a greenhouse with two sections for fruits and vegetables.
For the rest of the month, I will continue training in swordsmanship, sportsmanship, and cooking. Also the template went up to 94%, almost done.
Year 1 Months 9 Day 259 - Log 9:12 P.M - End of Week 37
This month's excursion went oddly. The only thing I did was walk around looking for stones—any kind would work. Instead of finding any, I met someone I recognized as Iscan of the Diamond Clan, the warden of the Basculegion. It turns out he was searching for a traveler who started a party on the beach after Basculegion told him about the rumor of some Pokémon eating good food served there. Iscan wanted some after hearing the reviews. When I told him that I heard a rumor about another party coming up at the end of the month from morning to dawn, he was ecstatic. He even forgot to ask me how I knew. I simply left after that, confirming that he would be coming. It also turns out the main language spoken here is English.
I don't think he will spread the word about me since he is mostly separated from people, based on what I know from the games. However, he did have acquaintances like Volo of the Ginkgo Guild, who is basically a traveling merchant, and Palina.
I guess I will have to make more things for the occasion, like kayaks, some frisbees, a bigger grill, a few surfboards (never too late to learn this one), some sand building gear, more volleyballs just in case, and bocce balls. I have the tools to make scuba gear, but I would rather not rush this one just in case.
Apart from all that, I finally finished my template and replaced it with Kurokiba Ryo's template, which started at 22%—probably because I am already good with fish and have the ability to instinctually judge them. Something to note is that Ryo's way of handling a knife is much different compared to Hitoshi's. While Hitoshi mostly dealt with fish and rolls, Ryo deals with any creature of the sea, even the more obscure ones like anglerfish, turtle eggs or coelacanths.
It won't take long to master Ryo's way of handling a knife, but the same can't be said for cooking. It will probably take the rest of the year—at least what I believe is the rest of the year—to finish his template.
Year 1 Months 10 Day 266 - Log 7:34 P.M - End of Week 38
This month's goal is to prepare. From the activities I planned to introduce for the end-of-month party to going out and catching a lot more crustaceans in the ocean like crabs and lobsters. Additionally, I am trying to build molecular gastronomy equipment for cooking, such as a food dehydrator, an indoor smoker, a pressure cooker, a blast chiller, a sous vide circulator, and a vacuum packaging machine.
Training-wise, it took me less than a week to master Ryo's way of handling a knife and fish. I even combined their techniques on how to prepare and serve fish. I started to learn how to properly mix spices and concentrate flavors based on the training memories. It's really hard to concentrate the flavors in one place, but it's also kind of connected to spices, so maybe, just maybe, I can learn it faster than I thought I could.
The downside is that I need to learn how to properly take care of these new sea creatures that aren't fish and document it like everything else I document.
Year 1 Months 10 Day 280 - Log 8:40 P.M - End of Week 40
Over the past week, I completed all the extracurricular activity equipment and collected a variety of spices, herbs and berries, including seeds such as Alexanders, wild carrot, wild fennel, common hogweed, and coriander. I also gathered wild herbs like wild caraway, wild angelica, wild Szechuan peppercorns, and wild vanilla. Additionally, I found spices and herbs such as magnolia flowers, meadowsweet flowers, staghorn sumac berries, wood avens root, korarima, timiz, turmeric, golpar, sweetfern, ginger, piper capense, curcuma longa, pineapple weed, white cumin, black cumin, and black pepper.
I also increased the number of sea creatures in my home. For fish, I caught herrings, shad, sardines, pilchards, hilsa, menhaden, sprats, anchovies, capelin, halfbeaks, flounder, snapper, mackerel, pompano, bluefish, sea trout, and whiting. For crustaceans, Empy and I caught shrimp, prawns, crabs, lobsters, and crayfish. Somehow, Empy managed to catch live red royal shrimp along with some Olympia and Pacific oysters. Don't ask me how she did it, much less how she found them.
For berries, I found Pecha, Razz, and Plump varieties. By splicing and restructuring their DNA, I developed peaches, raspberries, and green beans that can now start growing. As well as a singular thunder stone, black augurite and a peat block.
Year 1 Months 10 Day 287 - Log 8:44 P.M - End of Week 41
I took my Pokémon in the morning and started setting up for our beach party. Interestingly, some Pokémon took an interest when they saw me carrying beach equipment and, out of curiosity, they followed. Once we arrived at our spot, we set up a campfire to use the smoke as a landmark for Iscan or anyone intentionally looking for us.
It didn't take long for the first person to arrive—about 10 minutes. Surprisingly, it was Palina, of the pearl clan and the warden of the Hisuian arcanine, along with two Hisuian Growlithes. Believing there was a beach fire, she stayed after explaining. About an hour later, Iscan arrived while Palina was surfing with the Spheal, Mantyke, and Remoraid evolutionary lines. He seemed surprised that Palina was there. He also called Basculegion after greeting Palina and told me that a friend of his might come too. It didn't take longer than 30 minutes before someone I recognized as Volo showed up in swim trunks.
When it was time to eat, instead of fish, I decided to go the crustacean route, so I cooked crabs, lobsters, and some Pacific oysters and berries. The great thing about these cooking-oriented templates is that they can cook abnormally quickly. We ended with some beach volleyball and frisbee; all I can say is that everyone is abnormally competitive. Also, Basculegion may or may not have given me a water stone to thank me for the meal.
Anyway, Volo offered to sponsor a restaurant, which I declined, but I did offer other things to sell for money or other materials, like my berries, plants, spices, medicine, metals, or even farm animals. He told me it was possible if I came to find him, or he could pass by this area again in the next two weeks. After that, our day ended with us rescheduling a beach party for two months from now.
Things I learned: this world has four seasons, with winter being the shortest and summer the longest. There are 36 months in total, each month has 31 days, and every day has 24 hours. It was currently the beginning of summer.
Year 1 Months 11 Day 294 - Log 8:02 P.M - End of Week 42
This week, I wanted to try something different from the usual training. Inspired by the Pokémon Magearna, I decided to experiment with creating artificial life. The only problem is finding a good power source, so I will take things slow until I can secure one. I have already prepared items to sell, ranging from different metals to various berries. Additionally, Ryo's template reached 44% completion after last week.
Training is going well. My Pokémon have all learned new moves and advanced others, as well as improved their elemental mastery to intermediate levels. Empy learned Growl, Swagger, Charm, Bide, Peck, Bubble, Bubble Beam, Water Gun, and Water Pulse. Sekiro learned Foul Play, Swift, Bitter Malice, Detect, Hone Claws, Nasty Plot, Calm Mind, and Shadow Claw. Vulma learned Dual Wingbeat, Mud-Slap, Gust, Snore, Lunge, Bug Bite, Struggle Bug, Swift, and Tailwind. It's amazing what sports and mock battles can do.
Year 1 Months 11 Day 301 - Log 8:52 P.M - End of Week 43
This week was fairly simple. I met with Volo on the beach, where I sold various items and made some purchases. Here's a summary of the transactions:
Sales : Total Sales: $99,250
- Berries: 131 berries at $500 each, totaling $65,500
- Metals:
- Iron: 250 kg at $5/kg, totaling $1,250
- Copper: 250 kg at $30/kg, totaling $7,500
- Thumblestone: 250 kg at $60/kg, totaling $15,000
- Spices: 100 lb at $100/lb, totaling $10,000
Purchases: Total Purchases: $47,900
- Spices: Paprika, 10 lb at $100/lb, totaling $1,000
- Metals: Gold, 1 lb at $1,000/lb, totaling $1,000
- Evolutionary Materials
- Metal Coat: $1,000
- Oval Stone: $1,000
- Protector: $1,400
- Razor Claw and Razor Fang: $2,000
- Reaper Cloth: $3,000
- "Colorful" Elemental Stones, $2,500 each: Fire, Leaf, Ice, Shiny, Moon, Sun, Dawn totaling $17,500
Total for Evolutionary Materials: $27,900
- Animals: Two cows at $10,000 each, totaling $20,000
Summary: Total Profit: $51,350
Additionally, I found out that most animals are kept in settlements or towns for two reasons: first, they are prey for even the weakest Pokémon, and second, people don't tend to eat Pokémon either out of fear or because they don't know how to cook them. Volo mentioned that he might come back for me next month, same place, if the items I sold him were popular with other customers.
Year 1 Months 11 Day 315 - Log 8:21 P.M - End of Week 45
This week and previous weeks, instead of going out, I focused on building a machine to aid with training and started working on an outline and plans for Magearna. Additionally, I managed to raise the template to 56%. However, I now need new sea creatures to continue my work, and any type would be useful.
I'm also trying to start new hobbies, such as making music and painting, while primarily studying different sciences, astrology, and gravity. For convenience, I finished the scuba gear from last time.
My Pokémon, on the other hand, have started doing mock battles against each other, apart from playing sports and hanging out together. They are getting closer and closer, especially Empy and Sekiro.
Year 1 Months 12 Day 322 - Log 7:42 P.M - End of Week 46
During the week, I went scuba diving with Empy to collect more sea creatures. Our haul included an octopus, a puffer fish, a single swordfish, a flounder, a snapper, a mahi-mahi, a pack of sea turtles, different kinds of lobster, various clams, and different types of prawns. Using the scuba gear I made from black augurite covered in a Metal Coat, I was able to withstand deeper pressures. It took three full days of searching to gather all these creatures. While I was out, I had the feeling I was being watched from afar—probably by a certain Basculegion.
Year 1 Months 12 Day 343 - Log 8:36 P.M - End of Week 49
The end of the month has arrived, and so has the beach party I set up with everyone else. I was expecting more people this time around, and they delivered. Iscan arrived first with Adaman, the leader of the Diamond Clan. Palina came next with Irida, the leader of the Pearl Clan. Lastly, Volo arrived with Ginter, the leader of the Ginkgo Guild. They all showed up within ten minutes of each other after I set up a campfire. And like last time they brought their pokemon with them and Basculegion didn't have to be called this time he came on his own.
Anyway, it went relatively well. We had competitions in surfing, beach volleyball, bocce, and, after eating, fishing. For the meal, I mainly made sushi, and on the grill, I prepared different plates of grilled fish with a side of berries and fruit. They were curious about the fruits. I found out that they had an ulterior motive: they all wanted to convince me to open a restaurant. When that didn't work, they settled for sponsoring a restaurant if I decide to open one. This time we made a set up a date to do this again in a few months.
Ginter also gave me some berries, specifically Chesto, Grepa, Pomeg, Hondew, Iapapa, Apicot, Figy, and Mangost berries. Basculegion gathered a bunch of reef fish for me, confirming my suspicion from the last entry.
Separately from all this, I decided to do gacha draws with all the money I had. I bought 20 item tickets for $30,000, 10 template tickets for $15,000, and 10 skill tickets for $15,000, spending a grand total of $60,000. This left me with $1,359 for other uses. My template also advanced to 82% for my Ryo template.

Few Things to Say:
- This chapter was around 4 350 words.
- Next chapter will have the updated status of his Pokémon.
- I am going somewhere where i will not be able to post even if i have the next chapter ready i will only be able to post it eleven days after this chapter.
- The next chapter is almost double (going over) the length of this chapter. It will also be the last in between time skip chapter excluding where i end things off in the one after it.
- I also chose to add a few things something people would be mad about but for me its more like balancing things off.
- Now I need to say this before anyone gets mad. The Mc is not OP, yet nor should he end up being by the end of the arc, the only ability he has is mind based mostly to enhance himself by himself and he principal way of attack is swordmanhip, sasaki's.
