Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Chillax moment, sorry Carnatux?

----time skip a few months-----

It has been some time since the sorcerers suffered under a certain man's pranks and Cu happened to arrive at a small, seemingly cozy town, along the way here other than using any fiends when he needed it to recharge his offerings, the gains he received from the monsters were saddening, the fire breath was now a part of his permanent arsenal.

The next interesting ability was of the fairies that he lucked out on was which was similar to evasion but not quite. It was tough to practice as he crashed into 'some' trees along the way and knocked himself out once so far by crashing into a boulder.

But should he master it?

That would open up another slot for other offerings he can use for other things.

While the cat-like orcs wouldn't give him anything else other than 0.01 points to his vitality, and the goblins was a similar case, only giving him 0.01 points to agility.

Cu stowed away his regular offerings and switched them out his subset, which by the way spared him the headache of being followed unintentionally, but who knows if the sorcerers were slowly reaching his direction.

The only strange thing about this town was there wasn't a single sorcerer around!

They also had something called the hunter's guild where humans would hunt down fiends and the monsters he met before the dragons!

Then again, the physical fitness they had was enough to make initiates cry as these 'hunters' had the strength to back it up. There was something strange about the weapons they used as well. It was made of silver or covered in silver, which surprisingly worked as a young girl that looked around 11 or twelve with a scar along her nose bridge was slaying the monsters around.

So Cu decided to rest for some time here, being semi-immortal and all while learning a few things. He decided to use some of the Healing knowledge to waste some time and relax to pay for his room in the inn that he picked. The things he made were some healing potions and ability-boosting potions. Interestingly enough, the young girl that slain a lesser dragon was his first customer and took an interest in Cu's clothes.

The orange-haired munchkin is called Reonika, and this girl was supposedly one of the best hunters in this town. And thanks to her recent purchases from his little stall, it was said that she managed to take down a large dragon that was half the size of the dragon he struggled with. It turned out that dragons like that one had roughly the same amount of magic as bronze and silver ranked offerings.

But back to the dwarf at hand who decided to throw a knife at him for calling her midget, the relationship between the two was... peculiar?

This child, Reonika, was a regular customer that he provided with potions and information as the ability he had to absorb memories was pretty handy as after he had sacrificed any of the monsters, Cu had learned of their lifestyle, weaknesses, habits, ways of how they attack, and most importantly, information for hunters to know where they hunt or gather!

His outfit was mostly based on the Cu Chulainn caster wearing a bluish cape, hood with fur innings(made from the wolves that he hunted), black tight innerwear that also covered his arms. It lacked the gold colors to now have any greedy bastards try their luck as Cu was currently too lazy for any more fights, the lower body was more of pants than anything as he wanted to keep the mobility, with whitened leather faulds.

"ne ne, mister, where did'ja get them weird clothes?"

Cu answered promptly

"from Ireland, now are you here to shop or to bug me again for stories?"

She was curious at the uniqueness of the clothes, and the stories he had about Geoff Librom had quite the amount adventures that he could talk about. Although he did try to avoid anything about sorcerers, Reonika was quite the bundle of curiosity for new things, from monsters, weapons to locations and items.

As he peered at her curious eyes, a few words from librom resounded within him.

" Ä̶̝́̓̌̽̃͘l̸̙͈̞͗̊͒́̊̒̕m̶̺͓͓̀͂̒̎̈̄̀̃͒́̇͐̉ô̸̧͓̻̮̝͖̰̌͑̏͌̄̇͂ś̶̨̞͍̩̙̫͈͓̻̮̩̭̬̄͛͗̐̏͘͜ͅt̴̢̨̮̖̠̥͇͎̥̣̩̤͛͒͑̐̾̆͝ ̵̧̯̪͕̱͕̾͑͗̓̂͘s̴̨̞͔̲̰̘̖̤̪̱̬̬̈̿̂͂̇̏͝ͅả̴͈̭̟͔̱́̈́̓̽̏͂ď̵̥̳̺͇̥͍͕͔̼̙̭̘̫͉̥̍̕̚ ̷̛͕̰̠̈́̂͌̅̈́á̶̫̎̐̿̌̑̀t̵̡̮̞̦́̒̌̐͑̄ ̴̣̥̙͎͙̥̖̼̺͖͚̫̗̈́̃̄͋͂̈́͒̕͠h̴̛̳͎̗̩̥̯̦̜͈̹̩̠̓̃̀͌͊́͒͋̍͜͝ͅo̶̢̧͕̲̱͚̺͖̥̭̟͓͖̒̎͝w̵͈̥͆͛̄̓̃ ̴̨̡̗̘̗̻̺̱̪͍̺̩̥̅̈́̅̆̆̏͌̚ͅş̴̰̲̭̼͔̱̼̝̲̟̼̪̀͗̽͌̆̒h̷̡͕̮̹͓͕͇̞̥̻̦̱͋̎̄͑͘͝ö̶̫̳̟͕͚̱̮̮̣̯̗̝̠̲́̅͂̾̅̅͋̈́̒̄́͘r̴̖̈́̈͂̂̌̀̈́͋́̀͘̚t̸̢̧̧̯̳̰̙̩̙̺͎̽͐-̸̛̘͈̬̱̫̪̗̞͔̟̎͗̾̾̀ͅͅḽ̸̙͍̮̦̖͙̠̪̑̀̓͂̏͜ͅi̶̡̛͉̝̲̾̌̂̑̓̿͋v̷̢̯̪̲̰͇̱͓̟̋́̃̈́̄ȩ̴̲̞̠̻͙̠͇̦̮̝͉̖̱͝d̶̺͚̘̙̥̆̊̍͒̐̅̉͌ ̴͖̰̾́̌͂̈́̏̍̓̑́̕͝ḩ̷̨̬͓̳̘̤͈͉͔̿͂̓̔̾̔̈͜͠ͅu̴̢̲̩͈̻̝͙̦͎̩͖̣̐̓́m̶̢̪̹̺̙̩̲̝̪͈͌̈́̀̅̊͝á̵̛̛̛͇͉̱̙̤͕͔̱̼̺̺͖͔̽̌̽͛̅͐̔̆͜ͅň̶̡̜́͋͐̂̒̀'̶̳̝͙͚̗̬̼͉͗͊̕͠͠s̸̡̱͇͙̞̤̥̱̱̹̤̒͌͒̒̅͗́ ̵̬̌̄̈́͂͊̈̌̆͝a̷̢̧̢̓̐͛͊̍̊͒͜͝ͅr̸̡̹̿͆͘ͅe̴̛̛̳̩͎̦͗́̀͜͜͝͝.̷̛̛̟̞̗̹̝̓͂͊̓̀̀̈̊͒͘͘͘"

He agreed on that thought as Cu remembered that long life that awaited him, and Reonika was helping him not think of it for now.

the Girl's reply was

"more stories, please!"

Cu released a sigh before giving her back the knife that she threw at him as since she's here and he couldn't kick her out might as well enjoy it. She sat beside him before he began his story—the tale of Carnatux.

He told her of how this large man had tricked Geoff Librom into eating a 'unique' fruit after cornering him. Then, when he was done eating it, Carnatux smiles widely at him before adding.

"that fruit is not cheap, you know."

Reonika's eyes widen in realization.

The man scammed Geoff as he demanded a fortune that was enough for three castles!

Her reaction was something at this part as she practically imagined that amount of wealth asked for a fruit!

At first, as anyone would, Geoff refused!

After being hounded for three days and nights of persistent nagging to pay up by the victim's words, 'he lost at the battle of wills...'

She was growling at this as the girl claimed she would've chopped the man up if she was in his place. Cu shook his head before continuing.

So Geoff was forced to work with the man for now.

She was getting angry for the victim, so Cu gave her head a light pat before ruffling her hair to calm her down somewhat, then resumed his story ignoring the growing crowd that was listening in.

In this world, wealth and power serve to measure one's worth.

The listeners all nodded in agreement.

Before dropping another sad but true fact in this world.

Only sorcerers have their own ways of judging people. W- they risk their lives daily in fierce combat. For many sorcerers, wealth is an abstraction.

Nearly slipped there....!

Luckily no one noticed it other than a certain girl sitting beside him that furrowed her brows while squinting at him, but right now, she was more interested in the story.

However, this man, Carnatux, was an exception as he was a sorcerer that was pretty obsessed at even counting beans.

"Keep your nose to the grindstone 'til you're paid off. Har har!"

He laughed as he spoke, exposing his shiny gold teeth.

To the group of listeners, this man's reputation dropped!

Cu was feeling sorry for the old friend, so he wanted to complete the story, to stop the crowd from misunderstanding him.

Meanwhile, as a certain bazaar, a large man with a gold-covered arm and golden chest plate sneezed, causing his drink to splash about before a sexy woman with a similar design of an arm and raiment offered a tissue before asking.

"caught a cold, dear brother?"

The man laughed out loud before stating.

"no, but I think it's that bastard talking about me again, Har har har!"
