**Ch 7: Mill Letter

Upon hearing several knocks on my hotel door, I instantly stopped typing on my private journal log on my laptop. I shut the file and locked it securely. No cybernerd could break through my passwords. Then I got up from the couch and opened the door to find Tom there, holding a brown envelope in his hand.

"You've got mail."

"Thank you," I said, taking the brown envelope, but he rebuffed me by not saying a word and walked away.

Nevertheless, I didn't care, he was an egotistical jerk, I thought, closing the door. I looked at the large brown envelope, before taking a seat on the couch. After opening it, I found a white envelope inside. Taking it out, I saw Mr. Mill's red stamped seal marker on it. I could only imagine what this could be about. So I broke the seal and took out a letter. Unfolding the letter, a drive fell on my lap.

This was confusing so I begin to read, "Dear, Ms. Victoria Perkins,

"I do wanna take this time to tell you how sorry I am about what you might have thought you had seen at the club that unfortunate night in November.

"Please, do hear me out before you rip up this letter. I sincerely ask that you give me this time to elucidate on behalf of my son Orlando. Understand, he wasn't there that night at the club. He was so depressed about you leaving for Egypt that he came to the mansion to find his brother Alejandro had returned home that night from being at Florida's beach. Always being close, the brothers talked.

"Orlando shared with him and me about your new engagement. However, he was dreary because you were leaving. Alejandro tried convincing him to go to the club to cheer him up. Nonetheless, Orlando wasn't interested and said, 'to go on ahead without him.' He gave Alejandro his consent to borrow his mustang. Do understand this carefully, Ms. Victoria. Alejandro was the one you saw kissing that girl at the club. The second you gave my niece Crystal his ring and blocked him from being able to explain this to you himself, Orlando has been devastated about this whole misunderstanding.

"As a father, I have taken it upon myself to try, and fix this unfortunate event that took place last month. I acknowledge that you might have doubts about what I had just told you. Therefore, I took the liberty to make a copy of several security cameras to provide the evidence on what I had shared with you is the truth. In case you do not take my words seriously, I do advise that you play the copied surveillance and look at it closely.

I hope you do consider watching it and contact my son. His mother and I can't bear to see him so brokenhearted.

"Mrs. Mill and I have always understood that you felt we'd reject you, and not welcome you into our loving home. However, I can assure you, my dear, that is far from the truth. My wife and I would be honored to have you as our daughter. Over time, when you and my son started dating, we have done some thinking. We have seen what a responsible young lady you are. If it wasn't for you, Orlando would have likely dropped out of the University, however, you, my dear, handled Orlando quite well and settled him down. My son needs you more than anything. Do take the time and think about this. More importantly, please contact Orlando.

"Sincerely, Mr. Mill."

My heart filled with tears to think it might have been Orlando's identical twin brother Alejandro that night. Despite them being identical, you could tell them apart by their distinctive eye color. Alejandro has sea-green deep-set hooded eyes, whereas Orlando has deep-set hooded ocean-blue eyes. Unless you were directly in front of them, you couldn't tell who was who.

Then again Crystal looked guilty and acted suspicious, and Alejandro shouldn't have been back from his trip.

Ugh, I guess the only way to figure this out is to play the surveillance Mr. Mill had sent me.

I fetched my laptop from the end table and inserted the drive, starting to load everything on the file. Right before my eyes, I saw it. Orlando pulled into his father's mansion around the time he would have arrived. He walked into the living room, and behold Alejandro was sitting with their father.

The talk about our engagement was brought up. Sure enough, Orlando looked so depressed. Alejandro did try cheering him up, but he politely declined and gave him his car key. I saw a clear view of their eyes. Alejandro took the key and left.

Meanwhile, Orlando stayed behind talking with his father until he turned in for bed around ten-forty o'clock at night. I followed up with the next camera and saw Alejandro with that same pretty blonde. I even saw myself walking in at that unfortunate time frame.

Goodness, then it's all true! Orlando never cheated on me! Mr. Mill even gave me the time and surveillance from the flight to Alejandro's arrival.

I couldn't take it anymore, and took my phone out of my front pocket and unblocked Orlando's number, and called him.

"Baby?" Orlando answered with a cracking tone.

"I am so sorry!" I broke down in tears. "I should have given you a chance to exp—"

"Babe, no!" Orlando cuts me off gently. "Please, don't cry, it's understandable. It can be such a pain to have an identical twin. Your reaction is understandable."

"You're not mad at me?" I questioned while still balling my eyes out over the phone.

"Baby, please stop crying and say you'll take me back," Orlando pleaded in this heartbreaking voice. "I can't live without you, you're my soulmate!"

"Yes, I will never leave you. I love you, Orlando." I cried, expressing my feelings.

I couldn't help but be emotional because I almost made the biggest mistake of my life.

"You don't know how happy I am to hear you say that. Babe, I love you. Do me a favor, and let's hang up so we can video chat. I gotta see your beautiful face." Orlando said in this most enchanting way.

"Ok, I'm getting off right now."

We both hung up and I exited the file on that drive. Instantly, I called Orlando from my laptop. His cute adorable diamond-shaped baby face came through. Yet I noticed his ultra-light blonde short-cut hair was messy. Even his heavenly ocean-blue eyes looked as if he had been crying non-stop. Orlando had a perfectly straight, narrow bridge nose, and ideal lips, I could never stop kissing. Just seeing him made me cry happy tears, yet I carried so much guilt.

"Awe, babe, please don't cry," he frowned. "If I could come over there right now, I would snuggle you up."

"I feel horrible about what I did," I confessed.

"Shhhh, everything will be fine now. We're back together." Orlando reached for something on the side of his desk before he held it to the screen for me to see the engagement ring. "Will you please marry me and become Mrs. Victoria Mill?"

"Yes!" I shout in glee. "I'll marry you!"

Orlando was so happy, I saw a tear run down his cheekbone. "I have you back, babe. Everything will be beautiful with you in my life. Nothing will ever get between us ever again."

"I agree with you," I said, wiping away many tears.

Orlando and I talked for over an hour. Until I was texted by Tom that we were leaving. After our unfortunate breakup, it was the best hours of my life to get back together with him. Officially, I am engaged to the best man in the world. No man could compare to my Orlando, I reckoned, leaving my room as I met up with our A team in the hallway.

Tom looked at me funny, "You look as if you have been crying?"

I smiled sheepishly, "I was, but I am fine."

"Whatever it is, I hope your head is on right," Tom rudely retorted, "We mustn't be distracted from our personal affairs back at home."

I had to bite the inside of my lip on that one. I felt on the spot because everybody's eyes were now looking at me, thanks to Tom!

"Of course, Tom," I said, swallowing my dignity.

"Good!" Tom flouted before we all left for the vans.
