Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Tarshis
Zayhar woke up with a pain in his chest a splitting headache from a flood of memories which are not his own.
As soon as he opened his eyes he could hear people around him scurrying about while exclaiming 'The young master is awake! Go call the elder and the madam immediately!'. It was not weird as he is a 'maharlika' tended by many servants. What he found really strange was that....
'I'm supposed to be dead!?'
That's right, he already died and it was fresh in his memories. He was out hunting in forest when he encountered a wild boar. The territorial beast rushed to him with rage but he stood unfazed and took a stance with his spear. The boar lunged at him with high speed but he was quick to dodge to the side while the boar's charge hit nothing but air. The failure of the charge will give him an opportunity to strike which he knows very well as it was not his first time hunting. His spear struck the boar's hind leg and gave it a limp. He enjoyed the hunt very much as his blood boiled with excitement. Slowly, but surely, the wounds accumulated on the boar's body until it bled to exhaustion and sprawled itself open on the forest floor. Zayhar rushed in and gave the boar a quick stab to the heart to end its misery, then a pain was suddenly felt on his back and he fell forward as he was embraced by darkness.
"Leave him there, let the beasts and birds feed on his body so that he will not find peace even in Bala'ak (underworld)."
It was a familiar voice, and it was the last thing he heard. There's only one who quickly came to mind. Far'ando, he is a neighboring raja's (King) son who he knew as they shared the same liking to a princess in another tribe. He was probably desperate and angered to have Zayhar as a love rival, because if the two are compared Zayhar beats Far'ando via landslide in every way possible.
'Damn you Far'ando! I didn't think you'd go this far, just for a single woman.'
It was the last thought he could utter in his head when everything faded.
The feeling can only be described as a deep sleep in a land of darkness and silence as the river of time flowed in an unknown length.
Amazingly, he woke up once again with memories of a time and place which are not his own.

Jay-R Gotera was born from a well-off family, his mother and father worked abroad in a certain tech company as electrical and mechanical engineers respectively. The child grew up with a fascination to technology and gadgets. He tinkered here and there and build his own robots to play with while doing his best to garner the love and attention of his parents. Well it was not too much to say that he failed. His parents were either too busy with their work or too tired to even talk to him. He began lose interest as time went by and became attracted to the world of light novels which led him to apply for a degree in medicine in the UK. He had this belief that since man was originally created by God without flaws, there should be a way to revert them back to their original capabilities. He finished his degree with focus on genetics and biochemistry. With his high capabilities it was not hard for him to find sponsors who can fund his work. He began researching on how to enhance the capabilities of the human body with minor successes in developing drugs to fight diseases, enhance the immune system, and lengthen the lifespan of the human body by adding artificial chromosomes. Ultimately he found out that immortality is out of reach as he was getting old and he was nowhere near of being able to fully decipher the human genome blueprint and unravel how it works and determining the intended function of each one, his obsession for it waned and he went back to the Philippines with nothing but his lab gown. He was wasting away reading novels, watching TV, and surfing the Internet in his ancestral house in Luchena until he watched a certain documentary on YaaTaba about a certain part of the Philippine history 'The three kingdoms of the Mahalikan Empire' what he learned interested him and he began to dig further. What he found out shook him. He was angered and ashamed, baffled and confused through the whole process.
'No wonder foreign countries invaded and continued to feast on the corpse of the dead empire. The Philippines is filthy rich! Trillions of metric tons of gold (some are unaccounted for in history) and precious gems, a strategic location and rich natural resources, not to mention the perfect climate for planting and harvesting crops. In the pretense of assisting its growth, the people suffered and became alienated in their own land.'
'No wonder they kept on saying how hospitable the Filipinos were in those days. Those bastards must have been laughing in their heads as they stole everything.'
He started a campaign to spread awareness to his fellow Filipinos, book publishing, seminars, blogging, etc. and people did watch and looked at them with interest but that was it. Hundreds of years of being enslaved changed them on the fundamental level.
Finally, he got a big break. A local TV station called ABC CDM informed him of their interest in covering his story. On the appointed date of the meeting, as he was walking out of his house to open the gate, he was shot five times in the chest by a man wearing a helmet and died.
