Brittle

When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you love someone, but it goes to waste"
These lyrics are so true, they aren't my taste
You give so much and receive so little
You start to break down and now you're brittle
You realize that person is noncommittal
It hits you between the eyes
"Why can't I solve this riddle?"
Sadly you have to come to the realization that they don't care
It's getting to the point that you can hardly bear
Bear to look like a fool again
It's got to stop, can I get an amen?
Your heart has taken so very much
Dealing with all this nonsense and such
They're just going to hurt you and stab you in the back
It's a vicious cycle, yet you ask, "What do I lack?"
You have everything to give yet they take you for granted
They don't see where your heart's planted
It was planted in theirs, but they neglected to show
That you two could make it work and eventually grow
But now you have grown apart
Due to their carelessness and doubt
It's time to move forward you will begin to find
Find the one that will be your guide
Together you will guide each other to paradise
And you won't feel you are just rolling the dice
True love may not be at love's first sight
But your true love will be willing to fight
