Chapter 323: Between a friend and a wife.

She put the macaroons back in the medium sized box and took a deep breath. She looked at him with blank eyes, feeling a little lost. There were some things that he did for her which she attributed to duty, with him being her husband but every once in a while, he did something special that had her questioning his motives. 

Like right now, she was wondering why he had flown in one of the world's most expensive dessert for her. Was he in love with her? This was not something you did for just anyone. Had he bought them before or after they had sex? Was she the only one he had bought for or did he get his mother and sister this gift as well?

She seemed to be lost for words or she was simply waiting for his response to her questions.

"Do you like it?" he asked.

Alix had no clue where the tears in her eyes had come from but they were there. Hot, fat and wet drops which fell out from both of her eyes. 

"I like..." she replied.
