Chapter 6: Palace Administrators

While learning this kingdom's language, Hypatia also exercises everyday. Even when she was a healthy 33 year old woman, she was so afraid of becoming sick and paralysed one day. After she turns 30, her body also easily gains weight, unlike when she was in her 20s.

Even though her body shape can't be said to be sexy, nor having a six pack abs, her figure is still ideal for women her age. She don't want to fall into obese state, where metabolic disease will fall one after another upon her. After all, her maternal grandparents' paralysis was due to a stroke attack. The stroke might due to both of them are obese and have high blood pressure.

Her paternal grandparents have heart disease and high blood pressure too. With those high risks, she tries to maintain her weight and have a healthier lifestyle.

But.. Fried egg, Korean grilled beef, ramen with thin beef slice, Italian pasta, Chinese hotpot, raw oysters, Thailand's mango sticky rice, Indonesia's beef rendang, Indian's samosa, sushi, creamy custard tart, Japanese cheese cake, and that damn bubble tea with hundreds variation, all are so delicious.. It's so hard.. Really hard..

More than one year without all of those are enough to make her drool just from her imagination.

The food here is also tasty, very tasty (for Hypatia, the food only belongs to two categories. Tasty, and very tasty). But still..

When the palace's kitchen uses the best ingredients to cook healthy food for you everyday, the more you dream about junk food. Even to taste the McDonald's fried chicken right now will be enough to make her cry a river and hug the McDonald's cashier for a whole ten minutes.

Since Hypatia's body is still weak, she exercises by walking around the garden each morning. Sometimes she runs a little and makes her maids frightened until they kneel, asking her to stop.

When autumn comes, Hypatia requests Honourable Dionius to teach her biology. Since she was a doctor on earth, she wanted to know about the human's body on this planet. Is the structure similar to homo sapiens on earth?

In those transmigration novels Hypatia read, the protagonist who had a doctor's background, suddenly became a small God who can miraculously save many lives.

Well, sorry to inform you, us Doctors in the modern world are using medicine manufactured in factories, using advanced examination laboratory and radiology tools to deduct our diagnosis.

For example, we could use our own hand to know that a person is having a fever. But doctors need to deduct what is the main culprit for this simple fever. Infection? Autoimmune? Or just a simple dehydration? We then do a physical examination, if needed, and tell the patient to test their blood.

If it was because of infection, which part of the body who got the infection?

We need to treat the main culprit, while giving fever medication to the patient. A simple ibuprofen or paracetamol is enough for mild to high fever in some cases.

The problem is, we know the drug's name, but we can't make it! We memorise hundreds and thousands of those drugs' names, but we truly can't make it.

Hypatia truly doesn't want to learn to become a doctor again on this planet. With these ancient settings versus her modern knowledge, she was afraid she would just become an anomaly with a different opinion from others.

Hypatia also use her magic trick to let her father allow her walking around the whole palace. Under her constant attack for weeks, finally Cleombre surrenders, allowing her to walk freely around the palace. Cleombre even took risks to face Chilonis's wrath because he allow his fragile beloved daughter to walk around.

The palace is.. Truly big..

With her small feet, she spent almost one month finishing visiting each and every corner of this palace, except the governing hall. She refused the maids and guards offer to lift her. She wants to use this opportunity to exercise, strengthen her bones and muscles.

The palace structure is located on the hills. Big and thick walls surrounded the palace like a fortress.

Some buildings have two or three storeys, while the prince and princesses' living area only have a single storey. Hypatia's palace is also single storey, but located in a higher area.

Examples of three storey buildings are for palace administration and library. Two storey building is a maid's and guard's living quarters.

Palace's kitchen has three main areas. One kitchen with extra security is for the royal family, located not far from Hypatia's palace. One big kitchen is for the prince and princesses, along with the harem members. It is located between the male and female living area.

The super big kitchen, the only kitchen with two storeys, is for the maids and guards. It also has several levels, serving each rank of palace maid and guards. The second storey is for them to eat. It is also the place where maids and guards flirt and search for their mate.

The slaves have their own kitchen. The ingredients are leftovers from the maids and guards' kitchen.

It's easy to differentiate the maids and guards' rank. Just look at the colour of their arm bangle. In winter, they use metal collars instead of arm bangles. Double bangles means they're the head of palace maids or guards. There are 12 heads of palace's maids and guards. Triple bangles means head of the entire palace's maid or guard.

Servants without bangles are the palace's slaves. They live in the lowest area of this palace, half underground. They're responsible for dirty jobs, gardening, taking care of the maids and guards living quarters, and many more.

Hypatia spent most of her time exploring the palace in the kitchen and palace administration building. Next to the palace administration building is the treasury.

King Cleombre just smiled when his subordinate reported that the Royal Princess was not even interested to look inside the treasury longer, instead she already spent three days coming again and again, watching them work, asking a lot of questions to them.

The subordinate reporting this not only because King Cleombre request him to give detailed report of Hypatia's visit, but also to ease the palace administrator's turbulent mind. They hope King Cleombre will be worried if his beloved princess keeps coming to the place full of men and will restrict Hypatia to come again.

They all heard King Cleombre allowed Cleonymus to heavily punish the people who were involved in Hypatia's tragedy, not even sparing his own concubines and daughters. What if this Royal princess had another misfortune in their place???

They truly can't afford to deal with the aftermath.

They already lure this princess to play with the rare and valuable things in the treasury. But after spending two hours looking and asking them many questions, the princess lost her interest. Why? Why??? A little princess is supposed to love jewellery and rare treasures!

That's why they're happy until they almost burst into tears when the Royal princess suddenly becomes interested with the maid's and guard's quarters.

The maids kneeled and begged her not to see their lowly living quarter.

"Why?" Hypatia asked.

The maids who took care of Hypatia were afraid to become her maids at first. They know, if Her Highness Royal Princess Hypatia can't make it after that tragedy, they might not only be demoted to slave, but also could lose their life.

They donated three months of their salary to the temples, prayed hard, and cheered when Hypatia finally opened her eyes. They also donate another two month's salary when Her Highness Royal Princess Hypatia could walk. Truly a blessing from Gods, letting them safely get away from calamity.

Then, it's so easy to attend Her Highness Royal Princess Hypatia. She didn't give many orders, only walked around the garden, then she spent many hours studying inside her room or at the library.

The High Physician said that the tragedy ruined her mind and wiped away all her memories, letting Her Highness Royal Princess Hypatia get away from the God of Death's grip with consequences of being reborn as a newborn baby.

They admired the princess who lost her memories and basic abilities such as speaking their language slowly regaining her ability, and now even smarter than what she used to.

The High Priest, who was invited to pray for Hypatia's safety when the tragedy happened, told the King and Queen that Her Highness Royal Princess Hypatia was born under the lucky stars. She will bring luck to people around her.

Looking at their Royal Princess right now, they all believe in the High Priest's words.

But His Highness Royal Mighty King Cleombre and Her Highness Royal Queen Chilonis forbid everyone who heard High Priest's words to leak this to outsiders or tell Hypatia about this.

The King and Queen don't want people to get near and borrow their beloved daughter's lucky star, afraid that her lucky star will be exhausted and bring calamity to her.
