Chapter 242: Blood Lust

Clyde's blood lust was not something new. He had always struggled with it when his temper flared. He hated this part of himself, but he worried that if he did not get it out of him he would endanger Evelyn. He closed his red eyes and listened to the sounds of the night. He had time left to feed before daybreak and he needed something more than a simple mountain lion. He listened carefully and heard the sound of hoofbeats on the forest floor. He could smell the magic rolling off of the creature from where he stood and he bolted to the west to follow it.
