After hanging with the guys for about 2 hours, I decided to head home. I didn't feel like having Tray or pops getting on my head. Once I got in no one was home so I made me some lunch and then sat to watch TV but I was interrupted by the doorbell.
"Damn".
I put the remote control down in headed to the door, it was James.
"Uh what are you...how did you...uh I mean hey...".
"Hey, can I come in?".
That's when I thought about rape again but I wasn't going to jump to conclusion, besides I Luckynzee was a fighter.
"Yea sure".
I opened the door looking behind him to see if others came too but he was alone. We sat down on the couch in he stared.
"So....um...what did you follow me here to just stare at me in silence?"
James shook his head no.
"Listen Lucky, your a beautiful girl and I just wanted to know would you go to the schools dance with me, its on Monday and I mean seeing as its your first day Monday, you' might enjoy yourself".
I was stunned. The only date with a guy I had was when I knew I was a lesbian. It was in 5th grade, it was all bad in I wasn't into the kissing at all. I stared at this girl instead. I wanted to kiss her and not my date. I sighed at James, in I guess he felt the energy because his face frowned.
"Um look James I-".
"Nah its cool I shouldn't-".
"Noo its not you I-".
"I just waltz over here thinking-".
"No James see-".
"I'll just go alone".
"Okay I'll be your date!".
That shut him up. He smiled from ear to ear. I admit I smiled too.
We were smiling at each other in James started to lean forward but the door slammed startling us.
"What's going on here?".
Saved by the Tray.
"Who this!?"
Tray began to walk towards James but I stood up in between the two so no fight would occur.
"Tray this is my new friend James, we met today while I shopped, James this is my over protective brother!".
The two didn't seem to care about my introduction. Tray finally walked pass James and I but James just stared at him.
"Yeaa I have to go, thanks for saying yes Lucky, I'll see you Monday".
Tray shrugged and I watched my new friend go.
"Dammit Tray, the first friend I make and you already scaring him".
"Well you shouldn't have such a punk ass friend!"
Tray laughed eating on some grapes from the fridge before he joined me in the living room.
"Look sis I'm just looking out for you, guys only want one thing you know and funny your not even giving it up!!".
Tray laughed hysterically on the couch. I rolled my eyes.
"Your a dick".
"And your a dyke".
"Not a dyke I'm lesbian".
"Same difference but uh just be careful, you don't want to lead a straight guy on".
Tray kissed my cheek in went to his room. I sighed but he was right, I had to tell the guys.
As I woke up for my new school day, it seemed like Sunday flew by and Monday approached me quickly. Tray and Dad was so happy I got asked out, its been years since I been anywhere or anywhere in a dress. Since I been dressing comfortably in guys clothing, I never really wore any of my girl clothes I kept.
I looked into my closet to see I had a few dresses but none perfect for a dance. Then there was a knock on my door. I turned to see my dad standing there with a beautiful gown in his hands.
"Where did--"
"I saved it for a rainy day", he joked.
I smiled grabbing hold of the dress getting a better look. I was cream colored with sparkles all around it.
"Its perfect dad, thanks".
We hugged and I prepared for my date. I walked down the stairs to see dad with a camera and Tray with his phone I'm guessing he was video recording because he spoke with each step I took. I hugged them both and Tray got ready to take me up to the school. We arrived there in less than 30 minutes by car but on foot it'll at least be a hour. I was ready to exit the car but Tray wouldn't stop staring.
"Do I look bad or something?", I raised a eye brow.
"Nah muy bonita".
We smiled in he reached in hugged me. I got out the car to see lots of students heading inside and some outside taking pictures with their friends. Nice.
"Hey Lucky?".
"Yea Tray?".
"Just have fun okay!"
I nodded blowing him a kiss, he shook his head laughing in drove off. I was watching him leave to feel a tap on my shoulder. James.
"Well well well Lucky you are the bell of the ball".
" Thanks uh shall we go".
He reached out his hand for mine in we headed inside. The atmosphere was amazing, men wouldn't stop checking me out and every now and then I would dance with Dennis or Jamal . I was having so much fun for the first time in years. I was so into my thoughts though about letting them know I'm gay that I didn't realize James sliding his hand on my ass.
"Uh what are you doing?".
"Chill Lucky".
"I will once you stop groping my ass!".
"Look were just dancing girl chill out!".
"No! I'm dancing, your feeling on my ass!".
By then the room was on us, everything got silent.
"Lower your damn voice".
I rolled my eyes in began to walk out but James grabbed my arm causing my to react by slapping him straight across the face. Everyone gasped. I didn't care about them I just kept walking. I took out my cell phone to call Tray, I didn't want him fighting at my school seeing as I only needed to finish up the last year, so I just told him I felt sick and tired in he was on his way.
In the morning I was awaken to Tray. He let me know I had company downstairs. I was confused about it so I quickly threw on some sweat pants since I sleep in my boxers and a T-shirt, in jogged downstairs to see that the guys were standing there. One had flowers in his hand. James. I slowly approached them in stared.
"Uh Lucky I got these for you, uh just wanted to say I'm sorry for what happened".
The rest of the guys nodded, defending him. I took the flowers smiling.
"Thank you James but I owe you an apology, actually I have to say something to all of you".
Everyone waited patiently, I looked over to see Tray nodding in smiling. I sighed in spoke.
"Uh I don't normally dress how you saw me, see uh I'm a lesbian".
Everyone just stared like I just said I had STDs. I stared back.
"Your joking right?", asked Dennis
I shook my head no, "Afraid not, I been this way since I was younger".
The guys looked at me than at Tray, Tray nod let them know I was telling the truth. James sighed.
"Well good thing I didn't kiss you at the dance huh?".
We all laughed, I gave Tray an don't worry face. I hugged the guys and for the rest of the day we watched movies, they got introduced to dad, and for the rest of school year till Graduation Day, my life was finally how it should be.
