Chapter 439: Lose control

I am watching him as he watches me and his eyes are wide open. For the first time in my life, I don't know what he is thinking. I can't read his mind. Right now, he can either make or break me at this moment. I am naked in front of him, the most vulnerable I have ever been and he is just watching me with wide unreadable eyes.

"Say something,'' I plead with him after a couple of silent seconds. I know I am being extra sensitive but I need him to respond to this.

"Uh...Lanis,'' he calls my name without moving his eyes. I look at his hands and they are squeezing the sheets of the bed.

"Say something,'' I say again, "anything.''

He looks at me and then down "I don't think this is a good idea right now, you being this beautiful in front of me. Please put your clothes back on,'' he tells me calmly, even though I can hear the anxiety in his voice.
