Having crossed over a hillside, Chen Tang soon saw the dilapidated temple that Second Uncle Xu Lin had mentioned!
The location of the temple was peculiar, situated on the side of a hollow between the hills, with four towering trees in front and behind it, each likely requiring an embrace from two people to encircle.
"This place is called Luofeng Slope; legend has it that a phoenix once descended here, leaving behind its esteemed name!" Xu Yun led Chen Tang towards the dilapidated temple while introducing the area to him.
Chen Tang joked half-seriously, "Perhaps, Sister Yun, you are the phoenix then dead?"
This was just a joke, but Chen Tang never expected that, years later, it would actually come true!
"Stop it!" Xu Yun retorted coyly, nestling into Chen Tang's embrace and acting spoilt.
The temple was large; despite being long neglected, it didn't look the least bit sinister. On the contrary, there was a sense of vitality, as if illuminated by Buddha's light.
