This was the first thing I saw when I woke up.
Out of nowhere a wave of memories floods me, with a face of pain from the memories, I lie down again, while I process the information.
After a few moments I sat down again, having already processed everything, I close my eyes and sigh as I open them again.
Andrew: well...I thought it was a dream, but it seems it was real.
In my memories I could see a 27-year-old salaried man. With a normal life, from home to work and from work to home, without a partner or children, orphaned for as long as he can remember. You don't have to think so much about who he was and one afternoon when he was on his way home, he was the victim of a robbery, the boy seemed new at work and while he was aiming he was shot, that's what happened and then everything went dark.
Then in the darkness a light appeared, he talked about something with him but everything is confusing, the only thing he caught was "mistake" and "sorry", and then he woke up here.
And seeing the blue screen with the statistics, I just had to connect the dots: death + being strange + a video game system = reincarnation.
In his free time, he read stories where the protagonist received a system after dying and in his situation, it was the result after thinking about it.
Getting out of bed, I walked to the window and what I saw left me wide-eyed.

Looking towards the city or what's left of it, I could see that the place seemed to have gone through a war.
And looking down I can see a lot of people like it should normally be, but the strange thing, from what I could tell in a building of maybe 25 to 30 floors, is that they look like animals in a herd, even from here. you could hear something like growling and they also looked dirty.
Returning to bed, I sat up and thought about what I saw.
