The next day, Elvira is having tea in the side room on the second floor, her morning lessons have ended early and she has just partaken lunch so she has the whole afternoon free. She is just thinking about what to do about her free time when Roza came to her side and told her that young master Livius has arrived but his attendant once again lost track of him. Elvira's face froze, and just in time Ivo came and saw her uncomfortable appearance.
"I heard you had quite a scare yesterday, are you okay?" Ivo spoke as he neared Elvira, she did not respond but got up and was about to make a quick getaway before Livius finds her.
Before she could open the door, she heard sounds behind her, she looked back and saw Livius trying to get down from the window which was a little high for his height. Elvira's eyes widened and looked at Roza who did not see Livius behind her. "Roza, can you help Young Master Livius get down from there?" Elvira pointed at the struggling Livius.
When Roza heard she was surprised as she looked back and really saw Livius hanging on the window. Roza dashed and picked up Livius from the window and put him down on the floor. "Young Master Eardwulf, that was dangerous, this is the second floor, what will we do if something happened to you?" Roza became very anxious and she started nagging.
Livius scratched his head and looked down. "I'm fine though..." Roza sighed at his response. "Young Master Eardwulf please wait here with Miss Elvira, I'll go and fetch Norian, he must be looking for you all over the place." Roza then walked briskly out of the room.
Elvira saw Ivo approach Livius in a curious manner, she ignored Ivo and looked towards Livius. "Why did you enter through the window?" Elvira resignedly asked as she walked back to where she was sitting before Livius arrived, she also gestured for Livius to take a seat.
"I was looking for you, after yesterday, Norian said you won't open your door for me anymore, so I figured I should enter through the window instead." Livius walked slowly towards the seat in front of Elvira and sat down in a good boy pose with his hand on his lap.
Elvira is stunned and almost facepalmed, did he just take Norian's words literally? She sighed, suddenly feeling a headache. "How did you know which room I was?" Elvira continued to ask. "It was the only window that is a little open." Livius replied promptly.
Elvira nodded suddenly regretting requesting Roza to open the window a little to let some breeze in. "Don't do that again, you are a son of a Duke, nobody will shut their doors on you. I would really like it if people use doors when coming in." Elvira also looked pointedly towards Ivo who is still standing beside Livius.
Ivo noticed her pointed look and grinned. "Yes, yes... doors." Livius also nodded his head quickly.
Elvira returned her gaze at Livius and asked. "Why are you looking for me?"
Livius hesitated. "I... I want to apologize... I really thought you would like Eddie... But I was wrong.. Norian said instead of Eddie you would like jewels or something... I did not consider your likes when giving you a gift... I'm sorry Elvira." Livius looked a bit teary-eyed.
Elvira reckoned that Eddie is the name of the spider. "No, it is fine, I was just... surprised." Livius' eyes brightened a bit at her words. "You don't hate me?" His golden eyes sparkled making his puppy eyes doubly effective. "No, I don't hate you." He is just a kid after all. "You don't hate Eddie?" "No, I don't hate ehh!?" Elvira is too immersed with his golden puppy eyes that she realized too late that she just denied that she hates spiders.
"I knew it! Nobody could resist Eddie's cute charm... You were just surprised at his adorableness yesterday right?" Livius became happy again.
Cute? That spider? Livius' sense of aesthetic seems pretty dubious. Elvira is really having a headache now.
"To apologize I have prepared a gift for you, oh this is not Eddie though it must be as cute Norian said I must prepare a jewel for you so I had a master craftsman prepare a necklace for you." Livius took out an exquisite box and handed it to Elvira.
Elvira hesitated and wants to refuse but seeing that it represents the sincerity of Livius' apology she can't just refuse it carelessly. It's a piece of jewelry though so I guess it's safe to accept...
"I have already delivered my apology and gift. I'll come and visit you again tomorrow." Livius bid goodbye after she accepted the gift and walked out, before he could reach the door, a knock is heard and it opened and a tired-looking Norian burst inside. "Young Master Livius!" "Let's go back to the Eardwulf Manor Norian." Livius went out without looking at Norian.
Norian bowed towards Elvira and huffingly ran to catch up to his young master. Elvira shook his head and pitied Norian for having such a boy as a master.
Ivo chuckled. "What an odd boy. He seems to only do as he please. So... What is his gift?" Ivo asked curiously.
Roza and Erna also walked in and saw her holding a box. Erna is alert this time. "Miss, can I open it for you?" Elvira thought for a moment and nodded. "Open it slowly..." Elvira instructed.
Erna took the box and bent down to Elvira's height level and she opened the box slowly. Elvira, Ivo, and Roza looked at it intently. When Erna opened the box fully, Elvira went behind Roza and Ivo burst into a fit of laughter. Erna closed the box. "I will dispose of it right now." Roza calmed Erna. "It is still expensive Erna and a gift from the Duke's heir, we cannot throw it away." Roza and Erna decided to keep the gift away from Elvira.
Elvira wiped her sweat a bit and glared at the laughing Ivo but he did not stop his laughter. "That boy really does as he pleases... Hahahaha."
Elvira sighed in agreement. That stupid brat, he did not gift me Eddie alright but he did have someone make a piece of jewelry in Eddie's likeness. Did he honestly think that I don't like the live one but will like a gem carved as a spider! Even if it was just a gemstone, the likeness to a spider gives her the chills, no way will I wear such a necklace, it would feel a spider crept on my neck!
.........
Two weeks have passed, and the only events that happened are whenever Livius visited, he will bring all kinds of insects to show Elvira that her mouth is about to foam. Whenever she said she does not like it, he will just bring another kind of insect to show her. Elvira will run and hide but Livius always manage to find and irritate her.
Ivo, the ghost that he is, only watched and laugh his heart out, but after a week, he took pity on Elvira and told her to hide in his hidden room. It was a success on the first two days but afterward, Livius stayed longer that if she does not show up, the whole mansion will be in an uproar because of her absence.
It seems Livius is determined to find an insect or creature she would like, the problem is, everything he brought scares her to death.
Today, she had no lessons and has her whole day free and in order to escape Livius' antics, she told Roza and Erna that she wants to go to the town proper and look around and shop as well. Sonya gave her permission and also arranged for some guards to escort and protect them.
Elvira felt a little excited, this is the first time she will go out since she transmigrated to this place. Ivo on the other hand is sulky because he can't leave the mansion grounds. "Bring me something from the market..." Ivo asked pleadingly. "Anything good, colorful, delicious. Oh! And you have to tell me everything you see, the shops, the people..." Ivo continued to ramble.
Roza finished styling her two-tone hair and they were just waiting for the carriage they will use to go to the town.
Elvira couldn't reply to Ivo because of Roza's presence so she could only nod and smile at Ivo as he talked nonstop. Elvira wore a plain blue dress but her hair is still eye-catching so she asked Roza for a cloak to hide her hair.
As much as Roza wants to flaunt the hairstyle she made for Elvira, she knows that this may call unwanted attention and trouble for her Miss, so she prepared a matching cloak for her.
Erna knocked on the door and informed them that the carriage is ready.
Elvira is in a good mood as she steps inside the carriage, she is very much looking forward to her first trip to town. She hopes that this trip is an eventful and fun trip, and since Sonya gave them money for today's trip, she will go on a shopping spree too.
She smiled gleefully as she took a seat while Roza and Erna looked at each other and smiled as well as they both took a seat opposite of Elvira, this is the first time they saw such a carefree smile from their adorable little miss.
If they knew she would be this happy, they should've asked their Miss to visit the town sooner. The carriage left the Parall mansion and moved a bit slower than normal to let Elvira enjoy the scenery. Elvira sighed happily, Today is really a good day!
