"Don't worry, Dad; I'll be extra careful."
Lady Melissa said, giving her dad a reassuring smile.
"Good, now go and shower."
The Duke said, to which Lady Melissa nodded her head.
"I shall excuse myself now, goodbye, mother and father."
Lady Melissa said, quickly bowing her head before running up the stairs to go to her room.
Lady Melissa quickly closed the door, making sure to lock it before sorting out her thoughts.
'Jack The Ripper…..and the man who brutally murdered her….are they the same people? It makes sense considering that both the murders had happened in the same place, and it would be a good place to murder someone. I mean, the place wasn't crowded or anything.'
Lady Melissa thought, wearing a serious expression on her face.
'Or maybe Jack The Ripper and the murderer I saw were completely different people, except that they both murdered people in the same location.'
Lady Melissa thought, sighing to herself.
'I doubt that it's the latter, but one can never be too sure.'
'Looks like there's no other way except to ask for his help.'
Lady Melissa thought, sighing once more, as she could imagine him laughing at her because she asked for his help.
'Or maybe I should just rethink this whole situation.'
Lady Melissa thought, feeling conflicted.
'Okay, maybe not-, it looks like I have to ask him for help.'
Lady Melissa thought, not being a single bit enthusiastic about the whole situation.
"Lady Melissa, have you showered yet?"
Sophia shouted, knocking at the door.
"I'm about to shower now, Sophia."
Lady Melissa calmly said.
"Hurry up, Lady Melissa, it's already 3 PM."
Sophia shouted once more.
'3 PM? Time flies quick, huh.'
Lady Melissa thought before rushing into her dressing room to find some clean and comfortable clothes she could use after her shower.
"Don't worry, Sophia; I'm about to shower!"
Lady Melissa shouted from her bathroom, her voice echoing multiple times.
"Okay, Lady Melissa."
Sophia shouted before abruptly leaving Lady Melissa's front door.
Lady Melissa quickly turned on the showerhead, putting the water setting on warm rather than cold.
'Warm showers are the best.'
Lady Melissa thought, rinsing her body with soap and warm water.
After a few minutes, Lady Melissa was done with her shower, quickly using the towel to wipe off the water from her body before brushing her teeth while hair drying her hair.
Which would probably be dangerous if she had accidentally dropped her hairdryer into the glass of water.
Lady Melissa left the bathroom a few minutes later, emerging with her beautiful and sparking skin and curly red hair, quickly leaving her room and going downstairs to find Sophia.
After a few minutes of searching, she had found Sophia.
"Sophia, why'd you call me just now?"
"Huh?"
Sophia replied, confused about what Lady Melissa was talking about.
"Just now, you called me."
"OH."
Sophia replied, her face beaming, understanding what Lady Melissa was asking her.
"I wasn't calling you just now, Lady Melissa. I was simply asking whether you have taken a shower or not."
Sophia bluntly said.
"Oh."
Lady Melissa said, feeling embarrassed of the whole situation.
'This would go number 2 in most embarrassing things. Number one would be waving at someone who was waving at the person behind you.'
Lady Melissa thought before quickly leaving Sophia alone to do her work as a maid.
Sophia was a little confused why Lady Melissa had left, not even saying goodbye to her, but she quickly brushed it off, thinking Lady Melissa had something important to do.
Lady Melissa rushed through the stairs, quickly arriving in her room and closing the door.
'Since mother and father cancelled my lessons today...I wonder what I should do for the rest of the day.'
Lady Melissa thought before deciding that she would go to the library and pick up a good old book explaining alchemy.
"I'll stop by the library then."
Lady Melissa said, not talking to anyone in particular except for herself.
Lady Melissa quickly stood up from her bed before grabbing a water bottle and going to the library.
Lady Melissa had never gone to the library before, as she was too infatuated with the Crown Prince Henry to care about anything else.
So this would be something new for her.
'I wonder what the library looks like.'
Lady Melissa thought before opening the library door.
Immediately a gust of cold wind hit her in the face, taking her back.
"That wasn't what I expected at all."
Lady Melissa said.
Beside her, she could hear a chuckle from an old man.
"Good afternoon Lady Melissa. What brings you here?"
The old man said, surprising Lady Melissa and making her yelp a bit.
"Good afternoon."
Lady Melissa greeted the old man back.
For some strange reason, he gave off this wise man feeling, and as if she had known him somehow, though she quickly brushed off the latter.
"I came here looking for some books about alchemy. If you don't mind, could you help me find some about them?"
Lady Melissa politely asked, assuming that the old man was the bookkeeper.
"Hmm, what do you want the alchemy books to be about?"
The bookkeeper asked.
"I want them to be about the theories of alchemy if possible."
Lady Melissa once more politely asked.
"Let me see if I have it, Lady Melissa. No promises though, feel free to take one of the empty seats though, Lady Melissa."
The bookkeeper said, giving Lady Melissa a small smile before searching for the book that Lady Melissa wanted.
Lady Melissa, who hadn't analyzed the library at first glance, was now speechless. She hadn't expected the library to be this big.
At most, she thought it would be perhaps twice the size of her room, which was already big enough, but this was four times- no five times bigger than the size of her room.
And Lady Melissa loved the design for the library, it was a roman design, and there were drawings on the walls on almost every side of the wall. She could see how much effort whoever had made the design put a lot of hard work into it.
