Chapter 3: Two different worlds

He smiled at his situation, reincarnated into the unknown place inside the body of the person who was still alive and then losing control of the body. It's pretty messed up, but it's still a little better than his last time, though he still ended up in the cell.

Kane sighed. [Yeah, it's not that, but Drake, how do you plan to survive? Do you have any escape plans?]

Drake shook his head. "No escape. Academy in two years."

It was hard to understand the broken voice, but Kane suddenly realized one point, he could understand Drake's words with no problem, and even Drake was able to understand him.

'I doubt we are both speaking the same language.' For clarification, Kane asked, [By the way, Drake, did you notice we both are able to understand each other? Care to tell me what language you are speaking.]

Drake paused and said, "I speaking Mizipi. You?"

"Mana bugs are common bugs that are enriched in a single mana element. Light mana bugs are quite common, actually. Have you not seen them?"

Kane did not say a single word. He was in chaos after hearing mana. It was hard to believe that he was in a world with mana. This sparked his curiosity, but he controlled himself and started organizing himself.

Many things were going on in his mind, but first, he focused on the wound on the body. A negligible amount of blood was still sipping out of the torn skin, he said in concern, [Hey Drake you need to do something about the blood loss man, I don't want to lose this interesting chance.]

Drake looked at his wounds and said in a casual tone, "Don't worry, they will send a trainee healer soon."

'It must be some kind of doctor or maybe a magician,' Kane thought to himself and waited. He received no response from Drake. This relieved him a little. From the start, he was not able to learn Drake's inner thoughts. Now it looked like Drake was in the same situation as him.

Interestingly enough, he still kept all his memories while he did not know a single thing about Drake's life. Is this the work of magic? How does this magic work? Did we have two memory bases now? No stop, let's start with the basics.

Before Kane could say he heard Drake's voice.

"Kane, you don't know about the mana, right? You are not from here, are you? Where are you from?"

Kane paused. This was an important question. He focused on the dead kid's face. There was still no emotion on that face, but those eyes were like a predator. From the conversation so far, he realized Drake was sharp, though he was just a kid.

He knew, like him, Drake also noticed something strange about him. Now it was not like he could not manipulate this kid, but was this worth the hassle?

Nah, he did not want to face this kid all the time, and it's not like this secret would do him something great. It would be more interesting to see the change of expression on this kid's face.

Kane decided to come clean. [Drake, you see, I am not from here. I don't know how I got into this situation, but I came from the world with no mana.]

Drake had a momentary smirk on his face as he nodded his head a little. "Oh, a world with no mana. What is that like? If there is no mana, then how does your world function? Is there any other form of power in your world?"

Kane's soul was dumb fold as this lackluster reaction. There was no scream, no excitement, not even wide eyes, but just a simple head moment and what with that smirk.

He sighed and said in a defeated tone, [There is no special power in the world I came from, but there is Science.]

"Science, what does this science do? Does this allow you to gain strength?"

[mm Science is the study of the world to find the mysteries of the world. Some smart researchers research to solve these mysteries and through that research, we learn many things. The thing we used later on used to make people's lives easy and also for the creation of weapons and many other things. And Yeah Science gives me the ability to attain power in my world. ]

"Whoa, it is interesting. Kane, do you know science? Are you a researcher?"

[I am not a researcher but I do know a few things about science.]

"Oh, you must be strong to know about science. After all, it is the power to solve the mysteries of the world."

[Ah, it's not like that. Forget about all these things, Drake, tell me more about this mana. Can we use mana? No wait, we will talk about mana later. First thing, Drake, I told you my secret. Now, it is only fair if you tell me about the condition we are in and why you are in this cell?]
