Chapter 2: Selecting Starter Summon
As the young dungeon core started coming sapient, newfound information and instincts started appearing within it's mind. The most notable thing that appeared in it's mind was...
"Select starting species. This will be your first monster that you'll summon and will forever have a discount summoning and evolving requirements."

Although understand some of information dumped into it's mind, the young dungeon core was only a couple minutes old and currently couldn't make an education discussion.
While not knowing what a red scaled kobold was, the young dungeon core knew that the ranking it had was the highest compared to the other four options. Which was the dungeon core's reasoning for selecting the red scaled kobold.
After summoning the first kobold, the dungeon core continued to summoning kobolds until there were five and an unknown barrier was preventing the dungeon core from summoning another kobold.
Once the dungeon core couldn't summon another kobold, it tried summoning the next highest rank monster: the red rock golem. But was once again met with an unknown barrier preventing.
Continuing it's attempt to summon another monster, the dungeon core went down the ranks of monsters before being able to successfully summon a wisp. Which was a small and harmless flame that flouting around aimlessly.
